I've recently gotten a new second-hand laptop. And I've noticed a problem that after some googling, seems to be a graphics driver issue. Whenever I try to watch videos, it makes my whole laptop really choppy. The video itself is also running worse than any other laptop I've had and this is the first time I've had AMD graphics drivers. Netflix, BBC iPlayer and Zoom cause the most issues.
Online tells me to revert to 17.10.1, but whenever I try to download Crimson Re-Live, it doesn't register as being installed so nothing has fixed. I've tried toggling GPU Scaling and Virtual Super Resolution off/on but it doesn't change anything. The refresh rates are the same when I'm on HDMI which also seems to be worse.
These are my specs:
- Acer Aspire A315-22
- Operating System - 10 Home 64-bit
- CPU - AMD A9-9420 Stoney Ridge Technology
- RAM - 4.00GB
- Graphics - 80MB ATI AMD Radeon R5 Graphics (Acer Incorporated [ALI])
- Hard drive - 1TB SATA
If anyone could help me, I would be really grateful. Any help to fully revert to 17.10.1 so I could test them would also be great.
Thanks in advance.
