182 Error comes up (missing supported graphics). Adrenalin is looking for the APU but it is disabled since b550 motherboard does not support integrated graphics. I bought the 5700g because it was a cheaper alternative to the 5600x at the time.
I'm so unbelievably frustrated that I cannot get Adrenalin installed for my cpu, which is supported in the latest 22.22.2 release notes. Please AMD come up with a remedy for this. Just because we bought your cpu with features we do not use, we should not be punished for it. How hard would it be to come out with an installer that ignores the apu install portion (or installs it anyways where the folders should be)???
Can I manually install the drivers without adrenalin in the device manager? The only issue there is that there 16 instances of my cpu in the processor (corresponding to the amount of threads in my 8 core cpu). Please someone tell me there is a way to update my cpu drivers.
Edit: I also forgot to mention, I can and have installed the chipset drivers, and ryzen master, both which recognized my 5700g as a cpu first, and a non functioning apu second. So this is not an issue that is impossible to fix, it's just that AMD has not fixed it yet.
List all your pc hardware components (make & model of each). And a pic of where this other apu is showing.
5700g cpu included in hp prebuilt on hana b550 motherboard with proprietary bios: https://support.hp.com/us-en/product/omen-30l-desktop-pc-gt13-1000a/2100404772/document/ish_4853259-...
500 watt psu HP OMEN 25L & 30L Desktops | Cooler Master
512 gb WDC PC SN530 ssd
Running a gtx 3070 gpu
2x8 gb hyper x fury ram running at 3400 mhz
I hope these details are relevant to the cpu driver issues (I am decent enough with computers to help point us to a solution direction if more system information is needed).
At a guess your connected to the 3070, so the amd installer can't see the 5700g graphics.
Plug the monitor into the mobo port, boot from that (you may have to check/change mobo bios graphics startup) and do a manual download/save/install of the graphics driver from amd.
Integrated graphics support is permanently disabled/ not built in to this mobo so I won't be able to do that.
What I'm frustrated with is how other amd software like chipset updater and ryzen master will accept that I can't use the apu and install and function flawlessly, but adrenalin can't have a programming clause for that?! Isn't it supposed to be the main driver software from amd?... You would think there would be a common workaround
Amd created the b550 without an ability to accept 5700gs (and 5600gs) apu, but to also accept 5700g as a cpu...So why is this not programmed into the adrenalin installer?
That's a question for HP support, every mobo for self builds i have bought have bios options for initial display auto, cpu graphics or dedicated card.
Adrenalin is the graphics software, which you don't need or can use for the 3070. Looks like HP have chosen only 3070 use for your model.
That doesn't really make sense. Yeah it's on hp for a poor motherboard pairing, but amd ultimately supports this combo so it should be worked around in adrenalin's installer.
I want to use the software for cpu related updates, not the APU.
I can try to disable the 3070 in device manager so it goes to the low resolution windows display but that still won't change the fact that APU is disabled by mobo. I don't even have a display port/HDMI/etc on my physical mobo io, graphics card only.
The Adrenalin software suite does not include a cpu chipset updater/installer. There is the 'Auto detect and Install' tool that looks for both graphics and/or chipset drivers.
But should you be using the ones from AMD or does HP have there own specific chipset driver for that mobo. The AMD chipset driver is the standard, but the OEM mobo may use a modified version to suit their specific needs.
