I'm having a frustrating issue where updating my drivers and attempting to restart my laptop results in a Blue Screen of Death. I tried a plethora of drivers - old and new recent ones, including chipset drivers from the ASUS Support page.
My laptop model is an ASUS N53TA
6GB RAM
AMD Radeon HD 6520G (Integrated)
AMD Radeon 6600M and 6700M Series (Dedicated)
Windows 7 64bit
I'll provide any type of information possible into fixing this issue. Thanks for reading.
There are several configurations of the ASUS N53TA. INFORMATION REQUIRED WHEN POSTING A QUESTION

** Windows 7 and Windows 8.1 must be fully updated before attempting to install any AMD driver. All 'critical', 'recommended', and 'optional' (no language packs, etc) updates as well as any Service Packs (SP) must be installed before any attempt to install graphics drivers. If you do not get this message .... keep installing until you do:
This should be most of the info required:
AMD Graphics Card
I'm using a LAPTOP.
My operating system is Microsoft Windows 7 Ultimate (x64) Build 7601. Service Pack 1 is installed.
I don't have any drivers installed at the moment, as they are giving me the aforementioned BSOD issue.
My motherboard model is ASUS N53Ta
My BIOS Version is N53Ta.209
My APU is AMD A6-3420M APU with Radeon(tm) HD Graphics
My RAM is 6GB
I will try to update Windows 7 to the latest version as soon as possible. I was missing out on 795.8MB of updates apparently.
Be sure to keep running Windows Update until you get the message that there are no more available.
This would be the correct AMD driver. It is the only driver you install: Laptop graphics update...How to
AMD Drivers and Support for Radeon, Radeon Pro, FirePro, APU, CPU, Ryzen, desktops, laptops
It didn't work. I still got a Blue Screen of Death, same error code and anything. Should i start sending the .dmp logs from the crashes here?
Wouldn't hurt. I would run 'Blue Screen View' for a clearer explanation.
This is what i managed to scrap from BSV. It's weird how my BSOD says "Attempt to reset display driver and recover from timeout failed", then it mentions "atikmpag.sys", but BSV is accusing dxgkrnl.sys
This is super weird. Why is it BSODing on bootup when i have just installed AMD drivers on my system, but if i uninstall them completely, things work fine again? Is my dedicated graphics card fried?
The dump file from 20/04 was when i first had the issue. I was playing something, then my laptop froze, and i restarted it. On bootup, that's when i started having this whole ordeal.

I found some more info that *may* be helpful:
Not having any drivers installed gives me two Standard VGA Graphics Adapters (one for my Integrated and the other one for my Dedicated, i'm assuming!)
One of them has an error however
I opened up hidden plug & play devices and these two ones also have errors
And lastly
Hello. I just want to ask if you ever found a solution for this problem of yours? I'm currently dealing with the exact same thing and I could use some help. Thanks!
I would abandon windows 7 and install windows 10 x64
