Hello. I have a notebook with AMD Radeon R9 M200X switchable graphics.
I had vendor driver for 5 years, but it became yet outdated so I decided to switch to AMD adrenalin driver. And my performance went to hell.
I noticed that "radeon settings" assign my game application "power saving mode" by default. So I run game, open radeon settings and assign it "High performance mode". But when i close either radeon settings or game app and then run it again - it falls back to power saving mode again.
So is there any way to make radeon settings remember my choice forever?
If your computer power plan is set to default (balanced) this could cause the issue.
1.Laptop must be plugged in
2. Computer power plan set to Performance
Thanks but this one is (and was) set to high performance and AC power plugged in.
Any yellow marks in device manager/display?
Intel processor or AMD/APU?
Only "AMD Log utility driver". CPU is Intel Core I7
Windows 7?
What is the exact model of your laptop?
Win 7
Dell model No: 5737-5706
Additional info: Problem appeared with latest windows update: KB4507004 and KB4507449
I started to have performance issues with graphic card and so decided to change vendor driver to newest adrenalin driver.

Didn't ever think I'll have to surf web in Windows for driver issues like Linux
