Any update on this? Did you get any driver timeouts meanwhile with only driver? Or it worked fine since your post?
Sad to say this doesn't work with Kingdom Hearts HD 1.5+2.5 Remix, hopefully AMD are working diligently on this issue...
I have the same problem. Since I use a laptop, I cannot use the solution you suggested. My graphics card version is stuck at 23.12.1. When I install the new versions, I get a black screen. When I boot into safe mode, delete the drivers, and install the 23.12.1 version again, the black screen disappears. But after installing new updates, the error persists. AMD Ryzen 7 7840HS w/ Radeon 780M Graphics.
The latest version is a regression - it is stealing the hotkey CTRL+SHIFT+X and has hard-coded the hotkey for something and not allowing you to assign that key or unbind.
Either provide end user bug reporting channel or do a bit of inter-op testing, this is breaking other apps that used the hotkey long before AMD chose to bind and then hide it's binding. Thanks in advance.
Something tells me the fix for DX12 is not a simple fix...especially as so many people and games have issues.
The Adrenalin Edition 24.3.1 Release Notes acknowledge issues with VR, specifically with the META Quest software for PC when used with AirLink. When interacting with Quest 2 and a PC, these drivers cause a permanent image freeze after some time of use. I've tried different routers and settings... However, as soon as I reverted back to an unfortunately very old version of the AMD driver, the freezes completely disappeared. My video card is a 780XT.
Do you reckon there will be a preview driver for this month?
I have a feeling that the drivers and or the adrenaline software is to blame for all the crashes and high temps that people are seeing with their 7900xtx and possibly others too.
The software and or drivers seem to be boosting the cards way above the max boost of the cards and that is causing the lock ups and crashes. Also there are issues with the game profile settings being overruled by the global settings.
I fresh installed windows when I first got my 7900xtx nitro+. Which the stock cooler on that thing does an amazing job with the heat these things create.
In the adrenaline software it was showing the core clock max at way above what the manufacturer states. In game the clocks were boosting way up to 3200mhz and crashing often randomly. Even setting the max boost much lower it still was boosting up very high.
I have now water cooled the card on a loop of its own and was shocked at how much heat was coming through the radiator and how high the hotspot was getting compared to the card in general. I've reseated the block a couple times to get better contact pressure which has helped.
What I'm finding is the global settings for performance tweaking are sometimes overwriting a game settings and change sometimes when I haven't altered them. I go back in after a reboot and the settings have changed.
I have to set both of the performance tweak settings the same and at the manufacturer max boost which has brought the hotspot right down and stopped the crashing.
In Skyrim with an enb running the hotspot was up at 80 while the card was at 36. Now with the lowered clock boost set in both global and game profile the hotspot has settled at around 51 using the fluid motion frames on top adds on a couple Deg now instead of heating way up high.
There's just something not right with either the drivers or the software and they are causing ridiculously high boost clocks pushing further than the cards can handle. If you set a max clock setting in a game profile it should not go over it otherwise the settings are pointless. A game profile should not be overruled by the global either which is happening to the games.
Also why is there no frame rate target setting per gaming profile instead of only in global.
If your temp differential is 44C, that sounds like a defective card to me. That gpu is factory OC and not all factory OCs are stable. There is a secondary bios on that card for "Silent" running, which reduces power draw. You could try flipping that switch. I have been bit a few times in the past on these factory overtuned GPUs, which is why I bought the lower end pulse version.
I have had bad experiences when trying to adjust the performance settings in adrenaline like the values not sticking after restarting. In my experience it is buggy junk. Flashy, bloated, and bug ridden. Meanwhile, when reading nvidia forums, the users complain about the NV control panel appearance, but it just works.
The odd thing about the software is that some of the settings in the game profiles work and some only work in the global settings.
The path and executables are correct for the game.
Setting both the global and per game tune settings the same and per the manufacturers stated max clocks works. The card temps underwater cooling are fine. The hotspot is around 10-20c higher. No crashes at all. I have the max clock set at 2700 now in both global and per game and it is showing that in game now.
I've had to reset the global and game profiles multiple times to get it to do this. Sometimes when you go in and have a look it is just not sticking to what is set. Sometimes as I said the values have changed.
When I first loaded the software after a fresh windows install the max boost was 200mhz above what the nitro+ should be. It had the clocks at 2980 for some reason and instead of either 2510 or 2680 which is the boost.
The clocks in game were trying to boost up to 3200 which is way too high for the card. I know the card is an over clockversion but when you set the max clock in the software it should not go above it when sometimes it does. It just seems the software really needs looked at. Especially the tune section which is not working correctly at all.
Everything on auto and the clocks try to boost over 3100
I'm praying.... begging that those pesky DX12 issues are resolved somepoint...praying.
Its widespread its giving AMD a bad name, I don't want that, so I hope they do figure out the issues here.
Agreed. Definitely will be going team green next build which hurts to say. Was excited to do my first current gen all red build, but this has been PAINFUL!!!
Still getting random timeouts in World of Warcraft. The only other DX12 game I play is Starfield and haven't had the issue yet.
Just see a message that some was blocked from AMD:
This version (adrenalin 24.x.x) still has problems with VR.
even virtual desktop is warning against the 24.1-24.2 version so far. and after trying the 24.3 i think it will be the same.
a bit sad they never test vr with their drivers.
So you found any solutions with drivers, who doesnt have problem with VR? Coz i have same issue.
I've been using earlier drivers without an issue for years, but last night I installed 24.3.1 and now Adobe Lightroom is completely unusable.
It either becomes unresponsive or simply crashes whenever i'm editing pictures.
If I disable GPU acceleration within Lightroom, everything is fine once again, so this is absolutely nailed on to be a graphics driver issue.
I re-installed 23.12.1 and re-enabled GPU acceleration in Lightroom and everything works well again.
So somewhere between 23.12.1 and 24.3.1, the driver has become broken and unusable for Lightroom users.
I'm HOPING they fix the time outs they are becoming more problematic as time goes on.
This is evident by the amount of people reporting driver crashes.
Every game for me is crashing now randomly, downgraded to 23.22.1 and it still crashes only now it shows the timeout splash screen.
7900xtx completely useless due to drivers and software.
Going Amd was a huge mistake. My old 1080 will have to go back in.
Can I have my electric money back along with the cost of the card as I have not successfully played a single game yet for more than an hour.
Hey, Im new here.
Mostly playing lineage2, but after new AMD update, ill started getting freezes each hour.
Checked whats happining with temperatures and mhz of card and memory, and i see my memory after last update started spiking. Ussualy its 400-800, but spikes now going to 7000-8000 and i guess thats why its crashes. And after that freezes i have to give hardreset on pc, because nothing working. Until i didint do windows update, and AMD update everything was smooth and good.
So maybe you can help me with this, and give solution? Thanks in advance!

Getting this SCEP error in event logs after installing latest Chipset and Adrenaline drivers
not letting me insert image, it's SCEP Certificate enrolment initialization failed error in Events logs
Today while browsing a website in Opera GX the screen went grey and the computer crashed. I sent a bug report.
Hopefully we get 24.4.1 soon, if there's one thing I know, AMD is by far the slowest at updating their drivers which is a real shame.
yeah tell me about its bull **bleep** **bleep** im so pissed 6700xt is a dam good gpu it blows the 3060 i had to get just to game out of the water
I really hope they abandon this 24-series alltogether and make a new series which doesn't have the problems this series has.
Waiting patiently for 24.4.1
But I'm doubting ill get my good news so soon.
I'm giving it at least until May or June possibly.
