Known Issues

• Intermittent driver timeout or crash may be observed while playing Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 on some AMD Graphics Products, such as the AMD Ryzen™ AI 9 HX 370. Users experiencing this issue can enable Variable Graphics Memory in AMD Software: Adrenalin Edition as a temporary measure (AMD Software: Adrenalin Edition -> Performance -> Tuning -> Variable Graphics Memory).
• System crash may be observed when first launching SteamVR while using Valve Index® at 144Hz on Radeon™ RX 6000 series graphics products.
• After using the AMD Cleanup Utility for Windows®, the AMD Bug Report Tool may appear intermittently during a new driver install on AMD Ryzen™ 7000 and above series processors paired with AMD Graphics Products.
• Intermittent application freeze may be observed while loading a save file in Monster Hunter: World.

Well AMD got best CPU on the market. 7800x3D or 9800x3d absolutly oblitirate Intel. BUT

AMD videocards is a TRASH and GARBAGE. its an lottery ticket...mb it will works...mb not... Mb you will play new games or mb not...
HEY AMD mb you contact your ASROCK partner and they will make BIOS update? With collabaration with you? Coz i already know 4 people with ASROCK TAICHI RX 7900 XTX that have same issue. Driver timeouts and games crashes...strange...Asrock taichi... 4 different people, 4 different PCs configurations...same problems same videocard...

just change the card and the manufacturer for example to sapphire you can buy a green one and a leather jacket will make it so you will have to buy a new one for the new dlss which will not work on the 5000th there are no less problems

THANK YOU FOR THE FIX AMD! After months of reporting about Virtual Super Resolution always giving unexpected system error in some games, now it is fixed. Using 1440p or 4k VSR on a 1080p monitor and playing Red Dead Redemption 2, The Witcher 3, Far Cry 6, Spider-Man Remastered, Star Wars Jedi Survivor, Alan Wake 2 now won't give unexpected system error and reset the AMD Adrenaline settings and tuning after closing those games. THANK YOU! THANK YOU! This fix is the only thing I wanted, it's going to save me from buying a 1440p or 4k monitor and still stick to my perfectly working fine 1080p monitor.

New driver install  (24-10-1)  went smooth, like always on both systems (7900xtx ref card/Ek block, 7900xtx Asrock Aqua- both with shaved down/lapped 7800x3d chips) and every game I've ran from Warhammer to warzone, to GoW and every other is running great. All good here. Cheers

Does not work on a 7840HS/780M. The last working Adrenalin version is 24.8.1 (only Driver!!!)

If AMD explicitly mentions the 7840HS when downloading the driver update, it should work properly. However, I end up in a black (dirty blue) screen and a boot loop. Then I could reset the system and then do a lot of work. But I don't want to.

I don’t know what AMD did but these drivers have fixed my issues since June. I’ve been using 24.5.1 released in May as that was the last known good drivers for me. Every month I would do a clean install and every month I’ve had poor performance in random games old and new. I have no clue what happened but everything seems fine now.

Hi all,

Just for others in the same situation, I had frequent "Hardware Errors" in the Windows 11 event log and eventual crashes during high end gaming. Never found the answers. Until I read on the internet to disable Fluid Motion Frames. And yes this worked.

But to my surprise, after installing the 24.10.1 driver,  I could enable Fluid Motion Frames without having any kind of issue.

So for me this latest driver solved many things!

Hope others will experience this as well.

I have the Sapphire Pure RX 7800 XT card.

A little review on the latest drivers, I would like to thank the developers:

For me, both 24.9.1 and 24.10.1 drivers are great. Great working AFMF2 frame generator.
Overall Very stable  - like a rock, smooth operation, in new games, fast shader caching. 24.10.1 works even better with UE games.
Increased gpu load in games and consumption(not a problem if y need more fps), it went in favor of fps and smoothness.

Good Amd performance.

Would like to add support for FSR 4 AI for 7000 series cards in the future. If this possible also

And general: maybe Amd engineers can still squeeze a couple percent of performance more on 7900xt/xtx in the Unreal Engine 5  games.

The webcam freezing and AMD driver timeout issue I had with Adrenalin 24.9.1 still happens in 24.10.1.

I was amazed my issue was so similar to Ray's issue, it was so similar I literally copied & pasted his entire post and just made small changes with my specs.

Me and him already troubleshooted using different drivers and hardware. Did someone at AMD troubleshoot this issue as much as we did? Maybe the AMD driver timeout a lot of people experience in games is related but that one I imagine would be harder to troubleshoot at AMD since it can happen at random times, so you can't reproduce when you want while you are trying to troubleshoot and fix.

That's why my webcam issue would be easier to troubleshoot because I can reproduce it whenever I want, happens everytime I open the webcam Windows app. Is anyone at AMD trying to fix this, or just ignore the issue and don't care? I installed 24.10.1 and it didn't fix it but the webcam works without any freezes with an AMD driver from January 2024 that came with Windows 11 (without Adrenalin).

Troubleshooting can't be that hard if someone at AMD is really interested (a big if). I already helped you telling you the steps I took. Just compare the January 2024 AMD driver (without Adrenalin) that doesn't cause the webcam to freeze, to the current Adrenalin version. What's different between both drivers that causes the issue? Check the code carefully line by line.

I don't see good clear concise communication from AMD about this AMD driver timeout widespread deeply rooted issue that has been happening for years, affecting a wide variety of people, different hardware, software, webcams, games, programs, etc. You need to improve your communication with your customers. At least acknowlege the problem officially.

If AMD works on this, you will only profit as a company in everyway, generate more money for you, happy customers will recommend AMD to others, you will reinforce AMD is trustworthy. If you don't care and ignore the problem, you will naturally force us to buy Nvidia cards and Intel processors in the future, you will lose customers and lose money. I've been an AMD user for many years, I've always chosen AMD instead of Intel CPUs. But this AMD driver timeout issue is just disappointing and it's making AMD look much worse to me, sadly, because I wanted to continue supporting and recommending AMD to other people, but you're leaving me no choice really, we need to face the facts.

It's from creative, and they have about the worst drivers of anyone, in my experience, not to mention the bloat. I suggest you open a support issue with them as well since it is their hardware and drivers. Additionally, I suggest you search for solutions and use the term "vchost.exe_FrameServer". It's a pretty common looking error across intel and amd CPUs and the fault might be with MS.

At a minimum, make sure you have the latest creative drivers, your usb drivers are updated, windows is repaired with sfc and dism, and the usb isn't set to sleep.

Sfc is one of the commands that is bugged with Windows 11 24H2, doesn't work. The original OP's webcam is Creative, mine is Conceptronic. It has no drivers available online. I know it's not the best, it's a generic webcam but simple and should work, it's plug-and-play.

Like I said it worked fine on another PC and with AMD's January driver without Adrenalin, that proves Adrenalin is the problem. It would be a pointless waste of time to open tickets with camera manufacturers when there is nothing wrong with their camera as me and the original poster already proved after our troubleshooting.

It seems AMD is more to blame than Microsoft because the webcam worked fine in Windows 11 (Microsoft) without Adrenalin. Only froze in Windows 11 with Adrenalin.

After installing this new driver, the Directx12 error no longer happens, but the game's ms is very high, presenting lag and stuttering making it impossible to play, I have an RX7600 with a Ryzen 5800x and 32GB of ram, after I went to Windows 11 24h2, I was never successful to run the Battlefield 2042 game again.

24.9.1 and 24.10.1 wont work with Battlefield 2042 it crashes the PC. 24.8.1 and older work just fine. Will ther be a fix for this?

9 times out of 10 the software wont open since i updated to this driver.

Deleting this folder lets me open it but i lose all game preferences and history.

I forgot to say its also duplicating some things in the list of games, example i will have a game listed and next the same game but with -win54-shipping next to it. And things like Brave web browser are in the games list too.

I have an ASRock Radeon RX 6600 Challenger D 8GB, and up until now, I've been using Adrenalin Edition 24.4.1, which has been running great since March this year. Then, I switched to 24.9.1, and DaVinci Resolve started crashing. Initially, I thought it was because I had an outdated version, but unfortunately, even after the upgrade, the crashes continued, even right after opening the program. So I upgraded the drivers to 24.10.1, but unfortunately, the same problem persisted. In the end, I used DDU to uninstall version 24.10.1 and went back to 24.4.1. From version 24.5.1 to 24.9.1 and 24.10.1, I successfully resisted upgrading, and I don’t know why I foolishly thought the latest versions would finally work properly.

I don't have a crash report and don't attach much importance to it since I solved it in my own way, but I'm not the only one having issues, maybe someone else has sent a log.

Just letting you know that the drivers are failing in some way again.

Thanks for more useless COD updates. That game has worked fine forever now. I know you are being paid by Activision but c'mon at least try to fix your drivers for other games. This is the worse state I have seen them in since i've swapped to AMD in late 2022.

New World has re-released on Console and PC and has gotten DX 12 yet nothing to help or optimize for that and many other games. People are crashing left and right.

My 7900XTX constantly crashing while playing almost any game that can load GPU in meaningful way.

No Man's Sky crashing with Vulkan error

How is that 24GB vRAM GPU catches OOM in the game that requires max 8GB?

Space Marines 2 crashes in same way, as well as Satisfactory. Game freez > black screen > driver crashes due timeout > game engine crashes.

3 month i own RX7900XTX and 3 month almost everything i play crashes. How to fix it? Any work around?

It's probably using your iGPU, but you did not post any specs or anything. NMS works fine for me and i have same gpu.

6700xt 24.9.1 driver crashes when launching CS 2, had to roll back to 24.8.1, works well here, but adrenaline opens itself after exiting sleep mode)

I found a problem in the drivers when RX6900XT without load on stock drivers the memory frequency works at 100% with a GPU load of 1-2% and of course this raises the temperature and only turning on freesync fixes this and the memory frequency is reset and immediately on the GPU to minus 10+! degrees, my monitor is 144 Hz if I set 60 Hz on the stock driver the memory frequency is also reset to 144 NO

Hey. This is a known long story issue mainly related to the monitor drivers.

The solution is increasing the vertical blanking in the limits of pixel clock. Make sure to turn off freesync before manipulating the settings.

As example, I have an Odyssey G7 which is 8 bit + FRC 240Hz capable through Display Port 1.4. My pixel clock can go up to 1080 MHz HBR3. Thus increasing the blanking from stock 50 to 200 which increased the pixel clock to 1070 MHz solved my problem.

Unfortunately this is not an AMD nor Nvidia drivers issue. AMD mentioned that VEGA cards can generate screen artifacts on high refresh rates if the memory downclocks on lower pixel clocks. And monitor driver manufacturers use lower pixel clocks in order to keep the compatibility with any DP/HDMI cable. Thus if your cable is able for higher clocks you increase the blanking so the memory will be able to downclock.

I've overclocked my Ryzen 5600X processor from its base frequency of 3.7 GHz to 4.2 GHz. Now, I want to reset it back to its factory settings, but it's not working. I've tried resetting both Ryzen Master and the BIOS, but the frequency is still stuck at 4.2 MHz with a fixed voltage of 1.1V. I want to return to the automatic voltage and factory settings.
