Hello
I have a AMD Ryzen 4300u on an HP Probook 445, and am trying to apply the patch for bugs that lead to decrease performance in Windows 11. No matter which option i choose (auto-detect or specify hardware) i get "device not started amdwddmg" under Device Manager for Display Adaptor. Nevertheless the properties also say "This device is working properly" . Please help

ignore the Microsoft date and just look at the driver version which is the correct one for Windows 11 - 10.0.2200.1 .
If the Driver version is the same as the Windows OS Version you have installed than you have the most current driver from Microsoft installed. For some reason Microsoft doesn't change the date of the Driver each time it is updated when Windows OS is updated.
by the way that is the correct AMD CHIPSET driver version with the AMD Windows 11 fix.
Are you installing a AMD Graphics Driver or the latest AMD CHIPSET Driver with the AMD Fix?
Also have you installed the Windows Update Fix that was available yesterday?
You need to install both the AMD CHIPSET Driver, latest version, that has the patch and the Windows Update patch.
I have installed it on my 3700X and my computer is much peppier in reaction than before the patch was installed. Not sure how well it will work on Mobile AMD Processors but it should be the same.
Hi,
Yes, I have installed windows patch 22000.282 (KB5006746) .
AS for AMD software, I have tried to install radeon-software-adrenalin-2020-21.10.2-minimalsetup-211007_web
as well as non-whql-radeon-software-adrenalin-2020-21.10.2-win10-win11-64bit-oct11
which are supposed to be drivers for AMD Ryzen 3 4300U / Radeon Software
The Radeon app says it is up to date:
Software Version
2021.1005.1236.22698
Driver Version
21.30.25.05-211005a-372402E-RadeonSoftware
but device manager for the Processor says Microsoft 4/21/2009 10.0.22000.1
what am I missing ? Is this not the driver for the chipset ?
I have also tried installing "amd_chipset_software_3.10.08.506", but
Device manager Processor chipset driver info still says Microsoft 4/21/2009 10.0.22000.1
What am I doing wrong, please

OK. I installed that one as well (in mentioned that in a subsequent post)
so I guess I have the correct chipset installed (10.0.22000.1)
But the Device Manger for the Display still says 10/5/2021 30.0.13025.5005
and states :
Device PCI\VEN_1002&DEV_1636&SUBSYS_8730103C&REV_C4\4&1185d5e4&0&0041
requires further installation.
the time stamp is from this morning about 9:23 am.
Why is that ? Is it now OK ?
Thank you very much for all your help !!!
No, What you are installing is the AMD Graphics driver and not the AMD CHIPSET that has the patch.
Unless this is a Laptop. Sometimes the Laptop manufacturer incorporated both the Graphics and CHIPSET together.
See if your Laptop Download page has a CHIPSET driver.
AMD seems to have a Laptop CHIPSET driver that says it is compatible with your processor: https://www.amd.com/en/support/chipsets/socket-fp5-mobile/amd-ryzen-and-athlon-mobile-chipset
This version is the one that has the AMD Patch for Windows 11. But first make sure your Laptop Manufacturer Support doesn't have the same CHIPSET version. If they do use that one instead which is 100% compatible with your laptop. But AMD Laptop CHIPSET should work though.
