Hello, I have my laptop last year, which has a configuration of Ryzen 7840H + Radeon 780M (intergrated) + Radeon RX 7600M XT, with Windows 11.
I have been using AMD Adrenaline edition to update the driver reguarly. However, since version 24.9.1, the driver installed by AMD Software would fail to load with the integrated 780M GPU. (FYI, the RX7600M XT works fine.) The "AMD Audio CoProcessor" also fails in the device management. To continue use my computer, I have to use the AMD cleanup utlility to remove the driver and then manually install previous version. The last version I find compatible is 24.8.1. Now 24.12.1 has been released and I hope the compatibility will be fixed, but still, my Radeon 780M fails to start.
I learned that the new drivers have many new exciting features, so it would be great if I can follow the latest update, instead of stuck at version 24.8.1. Do you have any idea why the latest driver is incompatible with my 780M, and how can I fix it? If the current version is anyway incompatible, will AMD fix the issue in future release?
(By the way, the forum is so clumsy. They have a "labels" field without any hint when posting a message. When you input some reasonable labels and submit, "invalid labels". So you delete the labels and submit again, you find the page has automatically cleared the subject field, so, "please input the subject". Now you fill in the subject again and submit, "max flood limit reached", so you have to wait 10 minutes. Could AMD please improve the page interaction, or does AMD simply don't want we customers to post any issue?)
Hello, Same here, UM890 Pro R9 8945HS, Windows 11 24H2 says error code 31 (... device not working properly).
Adrenalin (amd-software-adrenalin-edition-24.12.1-minimalsetup-241204_web) each time can't finish the installation (only driver, no chipset devices installation) in the end ...
I'll add, it's Radeon 780M in the device. Also AMD Audio CoProcessor fails (This device cannot start. (Code 10) STATUS_DEVICE_POWER_FAILURE)
to more more precise the 'Official' drivers mentioned in the Minisforum page work well:
https://www.minisforum.cn/new/support?lang=en#/support/page/download/132
But when we try to use the newest simply from AMD Adrenalin it doesn't work
Not sure if to blame Minisforum or AMD, I lean on it's a poor support from AMD's side of the mobile drivers.
It sure makes me rethink if I wanna risk buying a discrete AMD GPU for my desktop. Just getting sick of Ngreedia.
same on the Lenovo Ideapad Pro 7i Gen 9.
according to the event viewer, the amd gpio controller keeps failing when gaming or when you enable high performance
Hey there,
most likely you guys have 64 GB of RAM or more installed. Reducing the RAM below 64 GB (i.e. by removing one stick) should fix the problem.
According to the Framework team AMD should be aware of this issue for quite some time by now, but unfortunately they haven't fixed it yet.
Cheers!
I literally have 16GB and still have the same problem, what are you talking dude
The same for me.
Ryzen 7840H + Radeon 780M (intergrated) + Radeon RX 7600M XT, with Windows 11
Since version 24.9.1, the driver not work any more.
I also try the 25-2-1 version, not work still, whatever I use 7600M XT directly, or 7600MXT --> 780M.
The "AMD Audio CoProcessor" issue still exist in both mode (abnormal in Device List of Win11). Additionally
1. For the 7600M XT direct, randomly stuck around every 30s-1min
2. For 7600MXT --> 780M, around 60s in blank screen when starting, without randomly stuck
The same for me, still fail for the latest 25.2.1 driver.
Hardware : 7840HS + (32+32)-GB + 7600mxt + (4+4)T-SSD
When checking the "device list" in Win11, the abnormal status can be observed for the "AMD Audio CoProcessor".
If use the 7600m xt --> 780M --> display (default), then 30-60s black screen before login
If use the 7600m xt --> display, then I can login directly, but stuck 10s in every 30-60s ....
Hope it can be fixed soon.
Currently the 24.8.1 is the latest & available driver, no further update available
@ZesusKryst I heard the rumors and in a context of https://community.amd.com/t5/pc-drivers-software/amd-software-adrenalin-edition-25-3-1-release-notes... I removed half of my Ram and still have a no success
Hmm, I am sorry about that. Meanwhile 25.3.1 installed just fine on my 780m Machine with 96 GB of RAM. First working driver since 24.8.1.. Had a blue screen on the second boot. And an AMD pop up after a few more reboots, saying it prevented a black screen. Besides that, the latest driver seems to work on my end.
According to the Framework team there seems to be another bug as follows:
"However we have been able to reproduce another bug, which is that resume from hibernate may result in a black screen. But there is a workaround to enabled gaming mode in the bios to prevent this. We will update this issue when we are ready to release the driver on our forum as a beta."
Even if it might not sound like your problem, but have you tried to enable gaming mode in the bios?
Best of luck mate!
