AMD Adrenalin 24.3.1 crashing when changing graphics mode from power saving to any other one

When trying to change the graphics from power saving to performance, it immediately crashes and never change from the power saving mode.

When you open it again it will still be on the power saving mode

I tried uninstalling and reinstalling but did not work

This happened immediately after the 24.3.1 update

What could fix this?

If you haven't already:

  1. Perform a full uninstall of your current GPU drivers using DDU and/or AMD Cleanup Utility in Safe Mode. Be sure you're using a DisplayPort cable before attempting to enter Safe Mode as there are compatibility issues with HDMI and Safe Mode that would likely result in a black screen.
  2. After the DDU / ACU uninstall is complete, install 24.3.1

I am having the same problem, i have run DDU and ACU and even done a fresh windows install but the same happens.

My windows is fully updated.

My graphics card is a XFX RX590 Fatboy

MSI Tomahawk X570 Motherboard

Ryzen 5 3600

32gb 3200DDR4 memory.

All getting pretty old but completely survivable.

Hope that helps, thanks..

Sounds like a 24.x.x Adrenalin / Drivers issue.

I would DDU / ACU then install a previous version of Adrenalin.

As suggested, i cleared out the 24.3.1 drivers and installed the 24.1.1 version (the last driver compatible with the RX590) all seems to work fine in this version.  Have to wait and see what happens in the next version.

Thanks
