Hi,
For the past several years I have been getting this error and it's happening more frequently now:
VIDEO_TDR_FAILURE and my Win 10 PC crashes.
States: atikmpag
I have an HP Pavilion 590-p0076 with the product No 3LB80AA
Each time I google for a solution it states to go to Windows Device Manager and right click this driver and choose update and search the internet.
Each time the response is you already have the latest driver.
It appears to me that my driver is corrupted and I need to overwrite it with a clean copy. Is that correct?
That I should choose have disc and overwrite with that clean driver but I can't find or perhaps never received a disk.
When I search further I read something about AMD having this within a catalyst program but am unclear how to obtain or use this. And I need something simple so I don't risk corrupting something else.
Can anyone here help? HP support wants me to pay for a support subscription before they will even try to help me. You'd think they'd be able to simply point me where to download it - but on their drivers page the only new file they have is the BIOS update.
Thanks
Bob
What processor, and/or graphics card model do you have?
Hi,
AMD Ryzen 5 2400G with Radeon Vega 11 Graphics, 3600 Mhz, 4 Core(s) 8 Logi (balance cut off)
Does this info allow you to advise a solution? I have already tried everything explained on the Microsoft site except to edit the registry.
I understand there is a catalyst folder I am supposed to use? But I can't locate that googling or on the AMD or HP sites.
Thank you for your help.

The utility you're looking for to cleanup your driver issue is right here https://www.amd.com/en/resources/support-articles/faqs/GPU-601.html
Hi Adam,
If my display driver is removed, won't that mean I won't have any monitor display to be able to see how to reinstall a fresh driver?
If I will stil have a display, then do I just use the choice in Windows System to search the internet for the latest driver as I have before?
Thank you for your help.
Bob
You will still be able to see what you're doing the resolution may get lower and things on the desktop will look bigger which will be normal result from using the utility, but you'll be fine and after its finished install the latest drivers and you will be A ok friend, please let us all know how everything went afterward.
