Adrenalin 23.9.x Causes Slow Boot/Long time to boot on AMD 5800H Laptop

I own a Acer Nitro 5 AN515-45.

5800H+RTX 3060

So to avoid lockups and freezes caused due to 23.9.2 i rolled back to 23.8.x to have some stable experience but now i notice that coming back to 23.11.1 cause extremely slow boot time about 2-3minutes boot into windows.

I hope i am not the only one and this issue is fixed in future updates.

Just an update : thanks to u/josywong's comment I found the actual and only cause of slow boot was the automatic downgrade of AMD Audio CoProcesssor from 2.89.0.62 to 2.89.0.61 performed by all the releases of AMD Adrenaline to this date.

If you install Adrenaline then update the audio coprocessor driver by device manager ("Update driver" > "Search automatically for driver") the boot is totally smooth, tested with Adrenaline 20.9.1(the latest stable) and 20.10.1(the latest optional).

Don't worry if you read of an "AMD - System" update in Windows Update cause it's the "AMD Audio CoProcessor" , idk why such a weird alias(?).

If Windows Update happens to download and list the old GPU driver as an update just follow this guide https://www.windowscentral.com/how-prevent-windows-driver-update to unlist it so that it won't be installed even if you un-pause updates."

you can also refer to my post that i linked in my own comment. It has been working as intended since i implemented the fix

bear in mind, these are driver version from 2 years ago, so the best thing to follow is to just update to the latest driver and then manually update the AMD audio coprocessor, this way it is always gonna yield you your normal bootime of 30 seconds ^^

I had the same experience. It will happen if you use Win 11 23H2.
I use Lenovo Legion 5 15ARH05, upgraded 2 days ago to 23H2, and boom slow boot.
It can only be solved with "fast startup" option turned on for now.

Would you kindly update the fix on that post? For some reason, Elevenforum doesn't not let me register an account there lmao. Appreciate it ^^

Sorry, I have been busy.

I have Updated and posted a link.

Nice! Glad it worked!

So fast startup ON or OFF ?

For now, I will turn it on as there is no negative impact on my system. I once turned it off because it made my wifi adapter not work (had to be restarted).

I seem to have found the fix for the issue; the slow boot time was caused by the update of the AMD Audio CoProcessor, or the lack thereof. What I mean is that, starting from the 23.9.2 drivers and onwards the update for AMD Audio CoProcessor comes with a driver which dates back all the way to 2020, which causes a very slow boot time. I was having the same issue that you were talking about and I was tinkering around the internet, and I found a reddit post with a similar issue from 3 years ago (I'll link it down), where the fix was essentially just going to Device Manager>System Devices>AMD Audio CoProcessor>Update driver> Search automatically for driver. And then you're golden, boot times are back to normal. AMD have to fix this stuff up. I literally had to make an account here just for the sake of this fix xd. Also I'd request you to iterate this fix on the sites/forum where you've posted about this issue, will help a lot of people out. I'll also make a reddit post for others just in case they run into this problem.

Yep this works everyone, on 23.11.1 as of now no crashes yet and no slow boot times as well, Time to wait now.

Glad I could provide a fix ^^

thank you! I would never figure this on my own.
