Found the problem. Discord application opened causes the huge stuttering. TESTED. 100 % confirmed. contact an amd developer. closing discord resolves the issue

Found a better solution, disabling the overlay without closing discord. it fixes it.

Temporary WORK AROUND NOT A SOLUTION....that precisely my issue, things WE come with aren't solutions, especially IF WE the customer have to DISABLE a feature that should work and has worked...accepting this as solutions is literally akin to Stockholm Syndrome because are captures are AMD in the current GPU market...THEY need to provide a driver where THIER overlay and everything else works 100% with the most popular game on the PLANET, using the most popular game engine aka Unreal Engine...period.........

I am glad you were able to find a workaround that removes intended functionality to enjoy your game though, we are all in this together....

What driver version was it working on last without stutters? I'd suggest reverting back to the last known working driver using AMD DDU tool and reinstalling that driver. The 6600 XT is still getting support, but from what I can see, the newer driver versions are focused more on the 7000/9000 series, and maybe there is some code conflict with some of the older cards that hasn't come to light yet. I'm on a 7900XT and sticking with an older driver I know I don't have issues with. Not every new driver update is necessary unless you need specific game support, but seeing that it's Fortnite, you're most likely fine with an older driver.

What specific features that apply to your card are you referring too? Fluid motion frames 2.1? Point me in the right direction and I'll dig into it more. Cheers

Happy you found a solution. You're running the latest driver?

thats not a solution, thats an ADDITIONAL BUG you found. We tab out and use Discord for COMMS all the time. I did it all day yesterday..the solution isnt to close Discord ( a game in 2025 HAS to work with Discord ON ), its a driver change where it doesnt cause stuttering....did it previously cause it? has it ever caused it? or did it happen yesterday when you updated drivers? yea its the driver not discord what modern online game doesnt use and need a discord community and comms? if you think im wrong lets see if AMD advertised DOESNT WORK WITH DISCORD, and see how many units they move.....

It's definitely a temporary solution If the game is working, because discord comms can be used in a variety of other methods. If game sound is specifically needed through the headphones, then reverting to last known working drivers is a better solution until AMD figures out the bug that is causing it. Also I wonder how widespread the issue is, there could be a variety of non driver related things that might be causing it, like a bug with discord itself that's started after a discord update. Is there a problem with actual Fortnite game chat or does that work?

I reported the problem using amd bug report. yes, it's a disgrace to humanity. It's definitely a driver problem with dx11

Well I'm glad you found a "WORKAROUND" then until the issue is addressed. Cheers

These drivers also causing stutter in New World on DX12 with FSR 3.1 enabled when Anti-Lag is on with my 6650XT, once i turn anti-lag off in driver software all is fine. It used to work perfect with 24.12.1.
