24.10.1 Keeps Crashing Black Ops 6

Hey,

I am by no means a super tech knowledgeable person, but I am running into an issue where in the game Call of Duty Black Ops 6 I will be in a match and randomly all my screens go black and I need to end up force shutting down my PC. I have a AMD Radeon 6700 XT and I run the game in the lower qualities to increase my frames. With that being said I have researched into going to the Device Manager and seeing Code 22 and then Code 31. I will update the driver and choose local files to the most recent one and then I have tried the previous one to that and both have the same exact issue. It is really frustrating because I have everything updated, my Windows 11 is updated, and I am running the game at lower levels, but seem to still be having problems. Any suggestions would be extremely helpful and thank you in advance!

I'm having the same issues. I have a 7900xtx and a ryzen 7 7800x, When i play a few matches of black ops 6 my pc will just shut off its frustrating me. It wont turn on until i reset it in the back. Thinking about doing a factory reset at this point im honestly not sure whats causing my pc to just shut off in game.

I'm having the same issue with the 6650 XT.

Only difference is my screen goes black with a quick green flicker on the left side and just reboots itself for no reason. Drivers up-to-date (AMD Adrenaline 24.10.1) and

Windows 10 Pro up-to-date (version 22H2) and OS Build 19045.5011.

CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 5800x (undervolted CPU Core Ratio 40.00 and CPU Core Voltage 1.022)

RAM: Kingston DDR4 FURY Renegade 2x16GB 3600 (CL16) with XMP Profile 1 enabled in the BIOS.

MOBO: GigaByte B550 AORUS ELITE V2 rev 1.2 (with the BIOS updated to latest version "FGd")

NVMe drive: Samsung 970 EVO 1TB M.2 SSD

PSU = 650W

Could it be that the PSU is dying or not strong enough? Surely 650W should be okay for a 6650 XT?
PSU is from my previous rig though so i've been using it for a while (9 years).
I've also read online that someone had the same issue and upgrading their PSU did not help them at all.

Can't see it being a GPU hardware problem to be honest. Got it in february and didn't have any issues before.

Or is it just bad coding on Call of Duty's side? Which wouldn't be suprising if you ask me.

I am btw also running in 1080P Low (for frames) with no upscaling in-game, but i do have Super Resolution turned on.

Maybe wrong undervolt settings? It happened a couple of times in Battlefield 4 as well by the way (which is old) and never really had this issue before. It's not been happening too long..maybe since a month or two. Before that i was playing a lot of Heroes of the Storm (which is low demanding) so i don't really know if it's a driver issue either.

Anybody got a clue what's going on all of a sudden?

Thank you in advance!

*edit*  I would also like to note that i'm "playing"..when it lets me..Black Ops 6 via the XBOX PC Game Pass and NOT using Steam to play it.

This problem also started with me after the 24.10.1 update. It's also causing my browser windows to crash pretty often.

Same issue here. Can play a few matches just fine, then random crash to black and I have to reboot whole system. I've tried every combination of quality settings with no success, its just random.

Running an ROG Strix LC 6900 XT , i9 10850k on a Gigabyte Z490 Aorus Ultra, 64gb g.skill ddr4 3600 (2x32gb) and a 1000w seasonic psu. GPU and CPU on a custom loop, temps are very low and the crashes can happen at low or high cpu load in game. I even reinstalled windows, now on latest windows 11 build and its still happening.

I ran stress test on cpu and gpu for hours, no issues. All started when I updated to 24.8.1 for B06 support, it also crashes randomly when playing Elite Dangerous, never had issues before.

edit: tried factory reset, ddu and even reflashed bios on card, still same thing. This is the nail in the coffin thats gonna send me back to nvidia tbh.

I encountered a similar issue with my system, which has a Ryzen 9 5900X CPU and a Radeon 6900XT GPU. I found a solution that worked for me.

  1. I booted Windows into Safe Mode and ran Display Driver Uninstaller (DDU) as Administrator to completely remove all GPU drivers.
  2. After that, I performed a reboot, allowing Windows to automatically install the necessary GPU driver. You may need to check Windows Update to ensure it installs the correct driver.
  3. Once the driver is installed, avoid installing the AMD Adrenalin software (Radeon Software), as it can cause issues again.

Please let me know if this solution resolves your problem. I am currently using Windows 11.
