2018 Best Driver for HD 7900 Series / HD 7950 HD 7970 R9 280X Tahiti

HD 7950 / I7 6700k / Win10 64bit

Currently installed AMD GPU driver is 18.8.1

I'm wondering if there is an older driver for my 7950 GPU

which will bing more performance in Doom 2016 and in other games.

Any suggestions?

Generally speaking no, each new driver contains the performance enhancement of the previous releases.

i downloaded that version and my screen blacked out when it was finished, i took out the graphics card and tried to uninstall the update, but the card still has no display, i need help

18.3.3 is the m most stable of all the other version contains freeze crash issue

No freeze/crash issues with any 18. desktop drivers here, keep your laptop/game issue to your own thread.

On my HD 7950 the last good driver for me was 18.3.3. after that it ranges from crash to the whole computer going to black screen when Windows launches. 17.7.1 was a great pre adrenaline driver too.

Oh completely meant to mention to run Doom in Vulkan. It ran great for me under 18.3.3. I know I ran it fine with a few before that as well.
