19.8.1 Atikmdag.sys bluescreen 5700 xt
I just installed the latest 5700 xt drivers 19.8.1 and when i restart i get a blue screen and code Atikmdag.sys and have had to go into safe mode and roll back the drivers i then downloaded the drivers and installed them manually thinking that the self down loader may be the problem but it didn't help any ideas

After 5 hours of testing with hardware acceleration turned off, I think that the problem is either the instructions sent from Windows or the card driver misinterpreting these instructions for 5 hours without any BSOD, I think AMD should focus on this aspect
If someone does not know, hardware acceleration is turned off, causing the processor to handle all the coding, so the graphics card is unloaded from this task (CPU consumption may increase)

Describe your issue:
- BSOD when launching Aorus RGB Fusion 2.0, Aorus Engine or in discord. Stuttering and laggy interface when watching YouTube videos (I've noticed that encoding reaches 100%), twitch, opening software with more grapchically intensive GUI or similar. Crashes, bsods(Atikmdag.sys) and full rpm fan ramp up (extremely loud) after 15 mins of gameplay most likely caused by overheating ( No man's sky, Fallout 4, Dead By Daylight etc.). Blank or glitched GPU statistics even after fully uninstalling the drivers in Aida64, GPU-Z, HWmonitor, Wattman this, also, keeps GPU memory clocks, gpu clocks and rpm at a certain level which leads to overheating and a full system shutdown as mentioned before. Cleared the drivers numeorus times using AMD cleanup tool, DDU which still doesn't fix the blank/glitched statistics. The Glitched statistics seems to be caused by 19.8.1 a clean OS reinstall seems to resolve for a day. Update: clean install of 19.7.5 seem to cause the same issue as mentioned before.

19.8.1 installed through AMD support page. DDU used I'm safe mode prior to each installation. After DDU failed to fix my issue I back-up'ed my data and wiped the SSD my OS was on and reinstalled Windows. I continued to get blue screen crashes whenever I would reboot my PC.
Steps to replicate? I don't mean to sound rude but I don't know how you couldn't replicate this. Literally nothing is working correctly. I bought my card two days ago and haven't gotten anything to work. Prior to reinstalling windows whenever I would enter a game it would be getting half the frames it should and my Time Soy graphics score was in the low 4k's, half what it should be. Neither MSI afterburner or Wattman display any data at all. It's as if the card is dead which it obviously isn't.
It's unfortunate but paying a premium would have been worth having a functioning card. This is ridiculous.

I haven't upgraded yet and have also having these issues.
It seems to do it mostly when using Chrome with videos from what I am able to determine.
Only happens when using websites with videos like netflix, vrv and including Facebook.

Black screen and BSOD FIX... for me anyways.... on the RT 5700 XT
turn HDCP OFF.
You may have to do it 1 screen at a time if you run multiple monitors.
I use 3 monitors. 1 hdmi... left HDCP on for that 1. The other 2 are DVI so I have to use a DP to DVI adapter.... these adapters appear to cause issues...
Open the AMD Driver Settings... in the Display tab you will see "Specs"... in there you will see the override Tab...
Disable HDCP Support.
Good luck.

Try maybe uinstall (if you have) Radeon sound driver or try uinstall other sound drivers (like Realtek).
You can also send here your BugcheckCode from event viewer, thats maybe help identify which driver causes collisions.

Describe your issue:
- Constant BSOD kernals and non-paged area.
- BSODs commonly occur when using firefox, particularly youtube, though I have had some BSODs while gaming - which I now believe was caused by discord hardware acceleration
- Youtube playback has been buggy where parts of the parts of the video freeze or alternate between frames (maybe half the video freezes, spatially, while the other half continues playing)
- Had BSODs before updating to 19.8.1, I updated all of my drivers to try to fix the issue and they seem more frequent now.
- First BSOD was a day or two after building the system on all initial drivers (mid to late July)
- I get bsod when using discord sometimes or opening amazon music or using OBS studio. Basically anything sets it off.
- All system settings are default, besides RAM frequency being set to 3200

I have Sapphire RX 5700 and I also had some driver issues; BSOD (atikmdag.sys, system thread or other errors), game freezes, crashes, restart etc.. Upgraded from RX580 (there wasnt any problem never occured), other components remained same. Ive tried mentioned actions but only fixed for me this way:
19.7.3 or 19.7.4 driver installed(not above)
Freesync, Enhanced sync, VSR, Gpu Scaling all must be OFF
Windows 10 Pro 1903,
Acer ED273Awidpx 27" FHD 144Hz,

So doing my own troubleshooting since Ive gotten no help from amd I started disabling and uninstalling certain programs as follows:
1. Uninstalled Corsair Link-still crashing
2. Unistalled Asus Lighting while leaving Corsair Link up- still crashing
3. Unistalled both Link and Lighting- NO MORE CRASHES
I have been running OBS studio, you tube, ran heaven, 3dmark, passmark furmark and all is stable on 3 1440 resolution monitors. I think at least in my case any rgb controllers have caused the crashing and now that they are off I've had no issues. As far as keeping Freesync, VSR etc turned off and also disabling HDCP that didn't make a difference in my case. I am still using 19.8.1 drivers

Finally saved enough to buy myself parts and build a new rig, but encountered issues already from first boot. Everything on the system is brand new except for the old Seagate 1TB HDD which i transfered over from the old rig which is solely used for games. Games run absoloutely horrendous and i'm experiencing constant stutters and BSOD's. Gone through all sorts of drivers From both Asus and AMD like the chipsets, but nothing seems to fix it. Tried benchmarking and everything else runs perfect, even better than compared to others who tried similiar parts, except for the GPU which only provides 1/3 of the power. Sensors seems to be inactive as absoloutely nothing can be read about it in either Cpu-z, Gpu-z or MSI Afterburner. There's a slight windows where you can see it for 5 second period straight after a boot up before it dies again.

Describe your issue:
- Constant BSOD, related to either video_tdr_failure or video_scheduler_internal_error
- Every game runs absoloutely horrendous, even worse than the old GTX 970 on my old system. Benchmarks are abysmal https://i.gyazo.com/212ce91ae0c40a533de9cb5fde145354.png
- Constant stutters even while in dekstop with nothing active and barely any GPU,CPU activity.
Would've greatly appreciated if anyone could recommend any sort of action, just want the GPU to work properly.

I'm using ASUS X470-I + ASUS RX5700.
Previously I also got constant BSODs with any version of driver.
After upgrading to latest 2703 BIOS, fortunately all RX5700 related issues are fixed.
I guess it's a common issue for ASUS MBs.
You can expect fix in 270x BIOS for your B450-F.

Disabling hardware acceleration drastically improved the stability of my 3600/5700 system, but I'm still having issues with the system freezing when the monitors awake after I'm away for a while. For ASUS users, note that uninstalling all ASUS software will not uninstall several ASUS services. I've disabled them because it seems my problems got worse after installing several asus apps for my x570 prime pro.
Do the mods have any update as to whether this information has reached the engineers? Or when a to expect a driver addressing some of these problems?
