As of now im with 19.12.1 drivers and they run very good on my Sapphire vega 56 playing (only for now) Red Dead Redemption 2 since it launched on steam
when i installed the new adrenalin 2020 (19.12.2) it messed up the whole game.... stutters everywhere, gpu utilization not at 99% like normal (around 50%~75%).... conclusion... unplayable! had to roll back.
than the new 19.12.3 came out so i tried it and at first all the problems i mentioned seemed to be gone but i did notice my wattage was way higher (normally around 200w with oc/uv but with the 19.12.3 around 220~265w!!!)
Conclusion: my card was kinda getting hot... gpu and mem temps close to the 70º where normally im at 58º~60º with older drivers... was getting huge pink artifacts when mem was at 72º and gpu at 70º...
like i said before, now with the 19.12.1 temps, wattage and performance are pretty good!
AMD plz fix this, i want the new software features!
my system:
i7 4770k @ 4.4ghz
16gb ram ddr3
sapphire pulse vega 56 with oc/uv (stock bios)
only me with these issues?
Can you retry a DDU (Display Driver Uninstaller (DDU) V18.0.2.1) uninstall then re-install 12.3 ? just to confirm you installed cleanly and this isnt residual settings causing this.
Albeit, I too am having issues with 12.3 on my Vega 64 LC. Tuning section settings reset to default when I click to change another setting, very frustrating. thinking of going back to 11.3 (last 2019 edition)
i did do a clean install after using DDU in safe mode. same issues
Im back on 11.3 and no issues for 4 days now with the software.
I dont plan to upgrade GPU for a few years so I think I'll stay on 11.3 as I just need "working" not all the fancy features of the new 2020 edition.
Hey! I have rx 5700 xt and with Adrenalin 2020 drivers i've experienced higher voltage and power consumption when i let my monitors or my pc go to sleep and wake them up. It was so annoying that i rolled back to 19.12.1 and it works perfectly now. Did you observe high power consumption after waking your monitor or pc up?
