Ryzen 5 8500G thermal

I`m going to install my new Ryzen 5 8500G boxed to the new Board ASUS PRIME B650-Plus.

Do I need a an additional thermal paste to install the included fan?

It seems, that there is already paste on the contact surface of the fan.

Does it hurt, if I additionally use thermal paste?

If the fan already has thermal paste on it, do not add additional thermal paste.  Your other option is to clean off the current thermal paste on the fan with isopropyl alcohol and apply your own thermal paste.  I recommend you just use the existing thermal paste on the fan.  And by fan, I believe you mean the fan / heatsink assembly, correct?  The thermal paste should be on the heatsink portion, not actually on the fan.

I need help !!!

About 10 days ago I bought the Mainboard ASUS Prime B650-Plus, the CPU AMD Ryzen 5-8500G and  RAM GSkill Flare X 5 DDR 5 5600 CL30. I bougth it by a stationary specialist retailer.

This morning I gave it to a specialist Company to replace/exchange the Hardware of my desktop.

The Company owner just called and told me, that nothing works after Installation.

There is neither shown a  display/screen, nor a beep to hear.

He thinks ,that either the mainboard or the CPU is defekt or they don't fit together.

Even without installing the RAM it has to show a picture or has to beep.

NOTHING AT ALL.

I ask the community if there is something incompatible with my Equipment.

Otherwise I will try to ask for a complaint at my retailer

Tanks in advancefor your help , and excuse my bad English

There is a good chance that your motherboard doesn't recognize the new CPU, and that the motherboard will need a BIOS update (if one exists that supports the Ryzen 5 8500G CPU).  Check the motherboard website and download the latest BIOS file to a USB stick.  Extract that file to the main directory of the USB stick and here's the catch - if your motherboard will do the BIOS flash without a working CPU, you can update the BIOS.  It it does not, then you'll need an older CPU to get the motherboard up and running before you can get into the BIOS and do the BIOS flash from within the BIOS menu.
