Dram light always on when i start the pc

Hi, i built my new pc and are having issues getting it to post, i have a yellow DRAM light showing

I have tried re-seating the CPU, GPU, swapped in and out the ram sticks trying both on their own. (they are in slots a2 and b2 currently) and tried CMOS reset. Assuming no hardware is faulty, what other steps are there for them to try?I already change once my motherboard but still same problem. My previous motherboard was Gigabyte b650 x ax v2 and the new one is asus tuf gaming b650 wifi plus. I thought about having them try a bios flash but wondered if that should even be necessary with that CPU/motherboard? not sure how to do whether or not it's required.

I also tried removing the GPU and running off of the integrated graphics still with no luck.

Generally when the DRAM light stays on, it indicates a problem with the memory sticks.  You have already swapped them around though.  Have you checked to see if they are on the current motherboard manufacturers Qualified Products List (QPL)?  Assuming they are and the fact that you have a brand new CPU (Ryzen 7 9700X), I suspect the problem is with the motherboard BIOS not recognizing the CPU, and it gets stuck in the boot process.  If your motherboard permits the BIOS update from a USB stick without a CPU running, I would look for the latest BIOS update from the motherboard manufacturer and extract that to a USB drive for the BIOS update.

If you cannot get into the BIOS to perform a BIOS update, you might require an earlier version CPU (7000 series) to boot the computer and then perform the BIOS update.  This is one of the problems you can run into when a newer CPU comes out that fits older motherboard sockets but the user doesn't upgrade the BIOS of the motherboard so it can recognize the newer version CPU.

You need to read your motherboard instruction manual.  I believe your motherboard supports the BIOS flashback with a USB stick inserted in the correct USB port.  The latest BIOS update is from 06 November 2024, and you should download and install that with the BIOS flashback capability.  You should be able to do this if you can get into the BIOS screen, but I also think it's possible with no visible display if you have the USB drive inserted in the correct slot with the extracted BIOS file named correctly.  Again, check your motherboard manual and check the website for further instructions.

After you complete the update, you should also clear the CMOS by removing the power cable from the PSU and removing the CMOS battery for a few minutes.

How long are you waiting with DRAM light on? I'm wondering if it's just RAM training because that can take like 5 minutes.

That is true for the AM5 socket systems.

Can you get into BIOS? Does it boot to windows after the hold up?

Memory training can be a pain sometimes.

Try enabling "memory context restore" to help with boot times and if its unstable, also "enable memory power down".

It should shave your boot times to a few seconds.

Hope it works

Good Luck
