My first PC was a pre built Pionex. Late 90’s. Every desktop PC since has been assembled by me and has always been an AMD chipset. During the most recent graphic card shortage the most cost effective GPU in my budget was team Green. (Solid performing GTX 1660 SC for less than $240 in 2020). My last two builds have been pure Team Red (again). 5600x, RX6700XT and 5800X3D, RX690XT both on a B550 Tomahawk. Love both builds. I know it’s last generation but I’m not gaming in 4k nor streaming so I expect my current PC to last for a few more years.
Built my own in 2015 after dealing with laptops for years.
I'm still stuck dealing with laptops😢
Actually, my first computer looked a lot like a prop for the mad max movie, a real scrapyard looking computer.
The second.... erheeem, My first real computer was a "prebuilt", that also didn't lasted long till I opened the side panel and OC'ed it to 200mhz, I though that they shipped the wrong CPU and gave me a better one instead. I was so naive...
PC DIY back then was still a mystery and VERY affordable but today's prebuilt aren't really that pricey, you can even pick your own parts if you really like it and get it built for you.
Growing up I didn't even have a TV until I was 15. There was comp at the library like this one, but I couldn't touch it. I've used laptops for work and around 30 got my first gaming consol. I bought a pre-built at this point only the Mobo and PSU are original lol. Should have dove in a built one. It was pretty daunting at first.
My first Gaming comp. Severely modified from gettingnitna pre built. She may be green but she's all Team Red.
Looks great! Cablemod cables is an amazing touch in every build.
I haven't bought them yet because I was expecting to change my case first, but now... I kind of ruined my phone so.. the money needs to go elsewhere.
I was a lucky kid regarding PC's, my mom worked at the Portuguese Environmental Agency (at the time very few workplaces had computers) and the IT guy taught me so much.
Eventually I was all around computer shops asking (begging lol) for cheap used parts for my "Frankenstein Monster".
Frankenstein Monter! Sound freaky @johnnyenglish
Always built my own and have always been team Red.
