7900 xtx questions

Built my first PC and have some issues...PC build.jpg

NZXT H9 Flow with DUO fans

NZXT Krakken 360 Liquid cooler

9800X3d CPU

Auros x870e Master MOBO

g.Skill Neo z5 32 ram

rm1000x PSU

7900XTX

couple of questions:

BO6 Zombies: I am getting tearing - or jerking (game freezes for a brief second)  - Game continues to play, but I am frozen.  I turned on v-sync and that did help, but not solved it.

All the above equipment is new except the GPU.  I never had that issue with the old PC (HP OMEN) even on extreme settings.  I have the latest drivers on Adrenaline.  <My old PC had one 8 pin connection into the PSU and a splitter to 16 into the GPU. NOW I have (2) 8pin in PSU and 6 and 2 pins (times 2) into the GPU.

1) is MY PSU large enough for this?

2) I have balanced settings and in game Vsync turned on - no upscaling and no AA.  Basically, whatever is on the Balanced setting.  What would cause this or what settings should I try?

3) do I have it connected to the PSU correctly? (2) 8 pins into the PSU and the other ends (6 and 2) pluged into the GPU?

4) My Krakken will not read the GPU temp.  I can only see that in the adrenaline software.

5) I have not updated the MPBO bios... I am not sure how to do that, usually I do that through a utility but this looks like I have to download it to a USB and do some type of flash button I have to push.  Could that do it?

My BO6 Benchmark went from 98% CPU bottleneck on old PC (5800x) to 5% on new PC, the numbers flipped flopped.

I run at 1440P

Thank you for your help!

also I downloaded the RGB tool from AMD and it says plug in Compatible AMD device, it does not recognize the GPU.  I am okay with that but maybe that might help you genius techies help me out 🙂

I believe your Adrenalin driver install is messed up.  Do what was already recommended - use DDU (in Windows Safe mode) and remove the current drivers.  Then install the latest Adrenalin drivers (25.2.1) that are optional for your GPU and see if that works.  I recommend having V-Sync off.

One more thing that may have something to do with it - Not sure.

When I installed Windows it was installed on the ZERO drive (my second Samsung s990 pro.  I installed BO6 on the 1 drive.  I did not know that windows selected the second drive first.  I thought that would not matter, maybe it does.

1000 watts is plenty to run a 7900 xtx, and it sounds like your cables are correctly connected.

I'm assuming that you don't accidentally have the HDMI or DisplayPort cable plugged into your motherboard instead of your GPU, though it's always worth a look.  It happens.

Doing a full driver uninstall in safe mode with DDU and re-installing isn't a bad next step.

If none of that works, maybe go into your BIOS and make sure nothing is set up weird in your PCI-E settings.

the DP is plugged into the GPU.  I did update the BIOS and no change.   I will do the driver uninstall and reinstall.  Thank you!

I copied the picture and zoomed in as much as possible but couldn't really tell if you had 2 separate pci-e cables running to the card? You probably do, just checking.

(2) separate PCI cables - 8 pin side into PSU and 6+2 into GPU

check hotspot temps when in game with whatever you use GPUZ etc..  Could be throttling down if hotspot is hitting that 110C or above max.

I will download that.  For some reason my Kraken (Cam) will not read the GPU temp.  I only see the GPU temp in the Adrenaline app.

is there a way to not use the adrenaline software and use the Auros software? and only install the driver?

This is the data. I uninstalled with DDU in safe mode and instantllles the Latest version 25.2.1 and it’s still is happening

Is it normal to have both gPU’s pulling watts and temps changing?

You could try disabling onboard GPU. Another thing may be mouse polling rate. Do you have a high polling rate mouse? I know if I have my mouse set to anything above 2000hz in Marvel Rivals I get stutters like that.
