Good afternoon,
Our lab is currently running a cluster supported by ten nodes all running the AMD 7443P CPU. We have a few CPUs with an idle temperature of between 40-45C and a few nodes that idle much higher at closer to 80C. Whenever we do a burn-in test on the nodes the CPU temperatures rise to 95C within 60 seconds. However we have one node that maxes out around 65C. We currently use thermal paste with an air-based CPU cooler and five chassis fans. We wondered if this is an intended temperature range for this CPU or if we are inadequately cooling the CPU and losing performance once it throttles at 95C. If there is any advice for a cooling solution it would be greatly appreciated.
