Bought 2 x 32gb 3600mhz Ram that doesn't appear to be working? I did update my Bios too.
1 stick booted up, but only ran at 2666mhz, the other stick wouldn't boot at all (even on its own?). They wouldn't work together either (tried slots 1/3 & 2/4)
Do you think one of the sticks is defective? Or is it a compatibility issue?
Any help much appreciated

I'm using this set in one of my computers without any issues. It's $90 USD right now.
On the other hand, this set is only $70 USD and it's a known good brand too for AMD systems. With the promo code, it would be just $60 USD. I would go for that if you hurry. Both have RGB lighting too. Check both of them for being on your motherboard's QVL first.
You need to tell us more about your RAM and motherboard. Did you check the website for your motherboard to see if your RAM sticks are listed on the Qualified Vendors List (QVL) for your motherboard model? It's common that RAM doesn't run at it's rated speed without some tweaks in the BIOS settings, like setting AMD EXPO. Also, once you have it running in a stable fashion (maybe on just the one stick of RAM, try to get the latest BIOS update for your motherboard installed and then try the two sticks again. If your RAM is not listed on the QVL as being compatible, you might consider buying a set that is listed as being compatible.
Thanks for the response.
Just checked and yes it says it should be compatible :

this is the ram : https://pangoly.com/en/product/patriot-viper-rgb-32gb-2-x-16gb-ddr4-3600
I've already updated the BIOS, which is why I couldn't figure out why the ram wouldn't work... I got one stick working, enabled XMP - but the second one wasn't having it (even if I put it in on its own).
That RAM appears to be intended for Intel builds. The XMP settings are tighter than the AMD EXPO settings from what I understand. I don't think you should be enabling XMP in your AMD build. Personally, I would try to get an AMD EXPO set of RAM, one that's on your motherboards QVL. It is possible that the one stick you cannot get working is actually defective.
Here is something I found about XMP:
Intel® XMP works only on Intel® Core platforms. What processors support Intel® Extreme Memory Profile (Intel® XMP)? The only processors that support Intel® Extreme Memory Profile (Intel® XMP) are the ones under the Intel® Core processor line.
Thanks for the help/ advice, much appreciated. Can you recommend me a more AMD friendly 2 x 32gb ram?

Thanks again! I think the Corsair memory is listed on my motherboards QVL so will probably go for that!. much appreciated.
The G.SKILL Trident Neo DDR4 line is specifically intended for AMD.
I'm running an old Crucial Ballistix kit, though I don't know if they're still available on the primary market.
That’s really annoying! I had a similar issue when I upgraded my RAM. If one stick is booting but only at 2666 MHz while the other isn’t working at all, it might be a defective stick. Have you tried re-seating the RAM? Sometimes that helps get everything running smoothly. Also, running a memory test like MemTest86 could be useful to check for errors. If it turns out one is bad, definitely reach out for a replacement—it can be a hassle, but it’s worth it to get your system running at its best!
