so a while ago I bought a whole new pc (custom build) my components are like this:
MotherBoard: MB ASROCK B650M Pro RS
CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 7600
GPU: GIGABYTE RX 7800 XT GAMING OC 16G
RAM: Kingston Fury Beast DDR5 32GB 6000MHz CL36
Case: Endorfy Arx 500 Air
I also have a QuadHD monitor if that matters... and yeah I know not all components but if the others matter in this case.. I have a M.2 kingston SSD and 850W power supply.
Well anyway.. my issue is that this card kinda sucks?? I mean I can run any game but my card is not able to cool itself.. I don't think it's an issue with the case or anything? and no my case is not on the carpet or whatever..
So to start.. what is the actual issue with the wattage?? I mean idling on 40W-50W?? And that is after "resolving" this with "custom resolution" and going under 144Hz (my monitor is 165Hz btw) so yeah before it was 75W-80W which is like.. crazyy.. I mean it is caused by the GPU memory temperature that is caused by it being maxed out because my monitor has more than 144Hz.. which is like.. Why would I want a card that "can't" handle more than 144Hz.... Is there a better solution to this?
The next thing is.. What is wrong with this cards cooling?? I mean my custom tuning looks like this which isn't the worst right?? maybe (and yes my power tuning is maxed so there is not any issue)
I mean even undervolted this card just goes right into the 70+ or even 80+ **bleep** even 90+ degrees if I dont have fps limiter or FSR active (it almost crashed my pc when I played dying light 2, before I used amd chill and limited it to 120fps) and NO I wont crank up the fans speed cause this card is LOUDDD.. so either play the game on good details and whatever or you know.. hear yourself think and your friends talk (optional ofc) I mean is there something wrong I am doing here?? I don't get it how can a product that costs a fair bit of money be this bad?? I should have bought the SAPPHIRE card that my friend has which btw COOLS JUST FINE
And yes I installed clean latest drivers no bs drivers from some random site or the ones windows gave me.. I installed the latest ones and also the chipset just to be safe..
My monitor doesnt have freesync but I tested turning on and off G-sync and it does literally nothing to the "stats" or whatever so that was a waste of time.. and dont get me started on adaptive sync that basically just lags everything for some reason so I have it off.. and yeah I have smartaccess memory on but I dont think it does something?? like raise the temperature or whatever.. didnt test that tho so maybe later..
Soo I guess thats all.. does this card actually suck or is it just my specific card?? either way... I love AMD processors but the GPUs.. not so much at the moment.. next time Im going for nVidia if AMD doesnt come up with solutions to all these issues (mainly the GPU memory frequency) but yeah.. I mainly blame GIGABYTE.. I hate myself for not listening to myself and buying the GIGABYTE card because it "looked better" yeah sure... whatever thank you for reading my post I dont even know what I wanna know I just wanted to post about my frustrations with this card...
