un lidded Edition ?

The heat spreader on top of most consumer grade Silicon could be better optimized as some de lidding has shown(Der 8auer). From a manufacturing standpoint saving a few batches of high end parts from being (lidded) would save you the cost of lidding them and you could sell them at a premium so builders don't have to buy de-lidding kits and risk hurting their high end hardware.

You might partner with the guy for a really good kit

(ask him to build me an all AMD de lidded )

I can dream can't I?

It would offer a super premium and If you were fair about it people might be able to obtain exotic de lidded cooling from factory.

That's one heck of a HALO Car.

Halo cars sell econobox's (Ryzen 3's)

and they are good for business!

I'll shut up now.

If you didn't have too de lid, Then your last paragraph goes bye bye,,  If it's from factory it is more widely available I'm not sure it will ever sell like hotcakes(it might) but it will give "good guy points"

The AMD flagship GPU is $600 cheaper than the "firestarter". I would hope in 600$ you could get a cpu/ gpu good factory cold block . Having the 15-20 degrees C of thermal overhead is good for any type of computation not just overclocking.  Again I think having a Gazoo Racing corolla that no one can afford will help sell the basic model with a stick as long as The right people get one.

a $600 thermally delidded cpu gpu combo

Also builders remember good guy Points.

Or they could come with waterblock connected directly to die/chiplet. Model you can open and clean. Standard threads so you can either connect to existing watercoolimg system or AMD could sell radiators and pumps.

I would call that the "kit" but also have barebones so the existing setups can be adapted. But yeah!

essentially I am asking AMD to sell a methanol engine as a crate.  The benefit being racing teams sell fast cars.

Depends on the type of demand there is from the public in purchasing Delidded CPUs.  Otherwise it probably wouldn't be profitable for AMD considering those type of processor would need a special Warranty, that is even if, AMD applies a Warranty on delidded Processors.

Plus the expense of including a Kit to install the lid on the delidded CPU.

From what I read the main reason for Delidding a CPU is mainly by Users that overclock the processors. By replacing the factory thermal paste inside the lid with a premium thermal paste or Liquid metal material so the processor will run cooler under overclocking conditions.

Plus the majority of Users doesn't really put any importance about delidding a CPU since they either don't know how to do it, are afraid to ruin a very expensive processor, losing the Warranty on the Processor.

Like I mentioned it all depends on the demand for purchasing a Delidded CPU. If there isn't enough demand for AMD to make a profit they are not going to do it no matter how vocal a small group of enthusiast are.

Exactly there is no reason to have to de lid a CPU by the majority of Users.

Only those that wish to overclock the processors or technically minded User that know enough on  how to de lid a CPU to try it make it run cooler for their specific needs.

I am not saying it is a bad idea for those that would like to purchase a de lidded CPU already.

I guess I am concerned about the idea that the small enthusiast idea should be discounted because it may not rep the industry as a whole.  At one point personal computers were niche enough to not maintain rights on apple hardware by HP.  Considering what Apple is currently traded at I bet they wished they had treated Wasniak better.  The average consumer buys whatever laptop is on sale that fits their budget, Not waits for L3 cache and cheaper ddr5.

But the guy waiting on L3 cache is who the laptop guy eventually calls to get a new install of windows. When laptop peeps finally bite the bullet into PCMR,, L3 cache guy is who throws together their first frag box. ;-).  If AMD wants to cater to the mob they should  mobile apu/gpu more(like Steam deck) .  In the mean time I am more AMD bread and butter because I am niche and I'll tell yeah to spend your money on red.
