Some of you guys may know that I am a leader in a gaming club at college. Currently, I am the director of events acting as President. I have been working on many events this year including a weekend long LAN fest.
I aim to finish my degree (I graduate this spring) and start my new career in the gaming industry. So, naturally, I am going all out. Next weekend I will host our first meeting since 2020, and I've done all sorts of market research on what the club wanted. Out of 54 participants in a survey, every single person said they would attend gaming events, and they want to be able to go to industry events like PAX, game awards, and E3.
However, there isn't much I can do about sending them to these events due to a 3,000-dollar annual budget. But I can at least try to partner with like-minded companies and do our own awesome events. I reached out to SAM and he got us some amazing swag from the red team including some graphics cards, (I'm jealous of who wins the r9) and a motherboard! This will definitely help retain active members.
Our first unofficial event is today. We convinced a local coffeeshop to host a worlds party for LoL fans so wich us luck! I won't be there but hopefully, they take plenty of pictures so I can show it off!

Hello @marinesquirel
I'm happy to hear you're graduating, edumakation is very important in my book! And I want to be the first one to wish you the best of luck when you get into the gaming industry!
Myself, my team, and AMD is happy to support you, as gaming is in our DNA! How did the event go? Any pictures?
Gives me hope for PDX good job. I wanna PAX too. If you find Gabe teach him to count to 3. I miss when KUFO was rock/metal. I'm in SW wino land "the Berg" went to PCC been to PSU for classes and things.
I still have two semesters left after this fall semester is over. It's still too early for me to look actively, but if I were invited to an interview, I wouldn't think twice. It certainly would help to have a job lined up early so there wouldn't be any stress. 😅
