Did you receive something unique or interesting for the holidays? Maybe a computer component or even an accessory? How about an original drawing from one of your kids? My son Tom (the artist in the family) drew me this combination of computer projects - 'Purrfection', 'Stapletron' (which was never built because his art department at George Mason University tossed it in the trash before he could bring it home to me), and 'Talk-2-The-Hand'. I love it.
nothing computer related but my husband bought me a bunch of monster hunter stuff imported from japan. a lot of it is lottery prizes, or from 7-11 stores in japan, basically unavailable in the US.
Cool stuff. Worthy of display within a PC perhaps. Of course, you'll need RGB lighting too.
ive got the lighting, but i think my current pc is a little too cluttered for the pieces i would want to display....or is it?
I would add more lighting from below, assuming you look into the computer from the side window.
Only thing interesting I got for Christmas was from Walmart 3rd party seller. Had a Samsung 65" TV on sale for $29.99 AND free shipping! Don't know if it were a pricing error or the seller being in the Christmas spirit, but I'm not gonna complain either way. 😆
You received it and it worked? Wow!
@BigAl01 Yeah, came brand new in box with no problems. Pretty crazy!
What a nice find. $30 right. 65" right. Hard to believe if you didn't show the box.
Sometimes we stumble into some unbelievable items. I got a $1400 Bushnell Tactical Elite rifle scope from Walmart for $340. Then the rebate from the manufacturer lowered it to $280. I'm certain that someone or a computer glitch didn't put the 1,340 in front of the price displayed.
I got two wool sweeters, too many boxes of chocolate, a broken washing machine and a 7950X.
I bet you picked out the 7950X yourself @johnnyenglish !
Actually.. No.
But this old post has a short explanation 😀

I didn't get much this year, but then again, I asked for even less.
The one thing I really wanted was a new mouse mat. My old 8x10 Steel Series was delaminating at the edges and looked really grungy. My nephew got me a 15x17 Glorious Elements Ice, and it's awesome. My Deathadder V2 tracks like an absolute dream on it, and the stitched edge will guarantee it won't delaminate.
I also got a new vacuum cleaner from the rest of the family. I moved into a new apartment back in February after a messy breakup with my ex, and all I had was a little dust buster stick vac that wouldn't even clean a bare floor. But with funds being incredibly tight, and not being able to find a good vacuum, this one was will fit the bill, especially since it's meant to suck up pet hair.
I also cut the tip of my finger off. I'll let you find that thread if you dare.
What an awesome piece of art, @BigAl01. Your son is talented and thoughtful.
This was completely unexpected. My wife got it for me.
I play Tennis normally, so she thought this would be good for the wintertime.
One of the most interesting gifts I received for the holidays in 2022 was a set of custom business cards with a holiday theme. It was a thoughtful and practical gift that combined creativity with utility, making it perfect for both personal and professional use. Alongside that, my daughter surprised me with a hand-painted mug featuring a festive design—another meaningful gift that shows her artistic side. Personalized gifts like these always stand out because they reflect the effort and thought behind them. It’s these unique and heartfelt items that make holiday gifts truly memorable.
