Hey fellow AMD enthusiasts,

I hope you're all doing well. I've got a compatibility question that I'm hoping someone here might be able to shed some light on.

I currently own a Windows 10 tablet, and I've been thinking about upgrading its performance. I've heard a lot of great things about AMD's APUs and their capabilities. So, I'm wondering: Is it possible to upgrade my Windows 10 tablet with an AMD APU?

Here are some additional details about my tablet:

RAM: 12 GB Ram

Storage: 276 GB

I'm particularly interested in understanding whether there are any compatibility issues I should be aware of and if there's a specific AMD APU that would be recommended for tablet upgrades. If anyone has attempted a similar upgrade or has knowledge about this, your insights would be greatly appreciated.

Additionally, any tips or recommendations on the installation process, potential challenges, or resources for finding compatible hardware would be incredibly helpful.

Not knowing how the tablet is built, I'm going to go based on the assumption that it's built like most other mobile devices, like laptops and cell phones. In a case like that, everything is soldered into place, and the PCB is wired specifically for that chip. Odds are pretty darned good that you're going to be SOL on upgrading the component hardware.

I mean you could try if you know your way around a soldering iron and PCB manufacturing, but it'll be a lot less headache if you get your hands on a new tablet with AMD guts, and recycle the old one after you've wiped it clean of your data.

The portable devices don't have the same "lego brick" construction as the desktop PCs. Nor do consoles.
