a very odd thing to ask

hello there red teammates, i had recently changed my thermal paste and i used all the thermal tube that came with my cooler ( i changed my aio and there was a full tube inside ) and i wonder if that a whole tube will be bad and make a big mess, and if it did some how made a mess and made the gaps of the cpu full with thermall paste what should i do, i have a 7700x btw.

oh dear, i kinda have to laugh. in all seriousness, you should be ok as far as the parts still working, but you might want to check if you made a mess with the tube of paste. how much was in the tube?

Clean the mess with isopropyl alcohol and pray that cpu will work again

A picture might be worth a thousand words here.  How much is too much?  Depends on the size of the tube.


As Albert Einstein said, "I could have done so much more with a Big Al's Computer!".

Hint, some thermal paste tubes will come with markings, these are the recommended dosage.

 

Thermal compounds are not good eletrically conductive so you are good to go, except the mess around the slot.

 

BE VERY careful around the board slot, a bent pint and you may get into serious trouble.
