Rendering Maya's Xgen Attributes (Hair, fur, etc.)

Is there a way to render Maya's Xgen Attributes without converting the xgen primitives into polygons? I have assigned a xgen fur modifier to a sphere in maya and so far I am only rendering the sphere.

Hi,

You can convert the old xgen system to Interative grooming hairs from xgen.
Select the description, and go to Generate menu > Convert to interactive groom.

I'm having the same problem, I've tried replacing the textures, different render settings, even using interactive grooming, I've still got nothing, I can get Nhair to render.. on the occasion but nothing else past that

Hi

You must convert xgen to xgen interactive groom hairs system for it to render with ProRender.

You can find this conversion option in generate menu

here

For creating this type of Xgen use the shelf options from xgen and use the icons on the right hand side for interactive groom hairs
