RX 7900 XTX Sapphire Nitro+ black screen + no BIOS version in Trixx

Hello there!

I recently bought brand new Sapphire Nitro+ RX 7900 XTX, plugged it in my pc and there were some problems.

While I'm idling on my desktop or surfing Internet it works just fine, but when I'm starting the game (Resident Evil 4 Remake, Ultra Settings 1920x1080) or a benchmark (OCCT) I'm getting black screen (after random amount of time: 2-5 minutes) and my graphics card's fans start spinning at full speed (but temperatures are normal: around 60 degrees on my gpu and around 93 degrees hotspot). The newest driver is installed (ver. 23.4.3).

PC specs:

CPU: Intel core I7 13700KF (stock)

MB: Gigabyte Z690 Aorus Pro (BIOS ver. F23)

GPU: RX 7900 XTX Sapphire Nitro+ 24 GB (mounted with 3 separate 8pin power cables)

RAM: GSkill Trident Z5 DDR5-6400 (reduced the frequency to 6200 in BIOS for stability) 32 GB kit (2x16)

PSU:  Super Flower Leadex VI 1000W Platinum

Cooling: NZXT X73 360mm

OS: Windows 10 Pro

Monitor: Samsung C27F390FHI

P.S: I tried various solutions from the Internet (such as undervolting the GPU, disabling MPO) and it didn't work for me.

P.S.S: changing back my GPU to previous one (Gigabyte 1660 SUPER) works fine with this system.

P.S.S.S: also found it curious: why is there no BIOS version for RX 7900 XTX in Trixx (in primary and secondary).

Thanks!

Did you use DDU to remove any leftover nvidia driver/software files?

Trixx is also showing no to uefi, why is gpu clock so high (on idle?).

Any 3rd party oc/fan control apps installed?

Ryzen 5 5600x, B550 aorus pro ac, Hyper 212 black, 2 x 16gb F4-3600c16dgtzn kit, NM790 2TB, Nitro+RX6900XT, RM850, Win.10 Pro., LC27G55T..

Yeah, I did use the DDU to uninstall Nvidia drivers and software. I even reinstalled AMD drivers.

This high gpu clock on idle is my bad (cuz on screenshots I got peak Max frequency; average clocks are below 200 - 300 MHz on idle)

Its interesting, but while Trixx doesn't show UEFI, GPU-Z does itimage.gif

3rd party app for fan control I've got is NZXT Cam.

I have a PowerColor Radeon RX 7900 XTX Red Devil and I have the same problem. It would be nice to hear a response from AMD to let people know they are working on this

I would monitor power just for more info that PSU is decent so it shouldn't be power related. This is a factory OC card and not all factory OC cards are stable at OC. I would switch the card to secondary bios which should lower clocks.

It's always best practice to have all OC utilities not running while installing drivers.
