Rx 6600XT Hotspot and other temperature sensor difference

Hello,i built my new pc less than year ago and i always had problem with unexpected shut downs while gaming,no errors reported anywhere.

I noticed that my GPU temperature is max 75C while gaming, which should be fine. But my hotspot temperature is almost always 109C which is max.

I can see that in radeon software or HW Info.

I heard that this may mean that thermal paste pumped out because of this big difference of 34-35C between sensors.

My GPU is under warranty i bought it 9 months ago so should i replace it?

Problem is fixed with pc case opened but thats not reccomended long term.

There are zero issues with case open long term, I kept my case open for ages, zero issues. I now have open bench i am very happy with it. Works fine for me, no animals or children around, temps are more than perfect!

Hi, is your GPU vertical mounted?

Hi,its not, maybe temperatures affect motherboard so thats why pc shut downs,my previous motherboard died, anyways i sent my card into service because card is under warranty,im waiting now for next steps.

As i understand this gpu temperatures maybe dont trigger shut downs, but anyways this junction temperature of 109C is of concern and i should improve air flow.

Your PC case is bad then.

You can try youtube about good PC case and fans so it has good circulate.

At least you have 1 fans in back, 2 fans at front. Also make sure the fans blow direction is correct. Your fans has like arrow symbol to tell you which direction the air goes. Also your CPU fan if using 3rd party, make sure also has correct air flow direction.

Another solution, undervolt it so it will have less heat.

Undervolting does not help,i only have 1 fan at the back,i should add front fans.

Is hot spot same as junction temperature?

with 6600XT, 1080p monitor, play AAA games with high settings around 60-70fps. GPU junction temps should be around 60-75celcius only. You should monitoring the junction temp. This junction temp which trigger the fans speeds.
