Radeon VII Anniversary Edition not being detected

Hey guys.

So I'm not going to have much specs as I'm helping my boyfriend do some research.

He bought this card sometime last year from a third party. No receipt due to the person bought it from someone else.

Can't RMA (even though we tried extensively)

The GPU turns on (leds and fans work) but not detection on any computer. We've tried multiple MB, PSU, PCI slots, risers and BIOS update on MBs.

Any ideas or is the card a paperweight?

You tried it in multiple computers and it doesn't work, seems like a dead graphics card.

At that point you could try to fix it using several methods, what do you have to lose right?

Check HDMI cables? check power supply cases? does the motherboards have a debug LED with some form of post code numbers.

Install 2 GPUs, or boot off of the integrated graphics on a CPU, once in Windows see if the card is recognized, you could try to flash/re-flash the vBIOS, validate the BIOS in GPU-Z, on you could use techpowerup to find your BIOS to flash with ATiFLASH, if it works congratulations, if not then take off the shroud + cooler, check for physical damage or burning spots, if you find one then you know where the problem is.

Thanks for the reply!

So we have tried doing 2 GPUs in one computer to see if we can find the Radeon but still nothing. Tried multiple cords, psu's, etc.

We will try taking it apart and go from there!
