Hello !

Since 2019 i am owning a Powercolor 5700XT (the basic one with two fans). I am only using my system for Sim-Racing and since playing in VR (Oculust Quest 2) i saw some random FPS drops while the GPU sits at 50-60% use. I have run my card at undervolt settings since the beginning. Yesterday I did some testing with timespy extreme and got some really interesting results.

My whole system:

Ryzen 3600x running auto-OC

16 GB DDR4 G.Skill Aegis schwarz DIMM Kit 3000 MHz

ASRock B450M Pro4-F

600 Watt be quiet! System Power B9 80+ Bronze

8 GB AMD Radeon RX 5700 XT PowerColor Dual

I have a table attached to this post.

My observations:

When undervolting the GPU too much OR setting the power limit in the AMD driver to >5% my VRAM drops randomly in Frequency during short periods of time. 

Also the highest scores I didn't achieve by overclocking the frequency of the card or increasing its power limit but by undervolting it.

Are those results normal for that GPU or is there a problem with my GPU and/or with my power supply ?

Do you still experience FPS drops when you set the card to default settings?

Yes, the frames are locked at 90 fps with vsync and sometimes they drop down to about 45.

without vsync i am getting +120 fps with some drops to around 90.

During those drops i see the power consumption plus frequency go down.
