GPU stopped displaying a picture after restarting W10

I have a 6800XT. Today I restarted my PC bc of some program not working properly. After I restarted, no picture was displayed. I tried to change the GPU port and it didn't work. Next I checked if the monitor was at fault, but it worked as usual. Then I decided to swap in an old 1060 I had lying around. Bam, everything worked. I was already sighing because of the money I didn't want to spend. It's a really bad time to be forced into buying a GPU.  As a last ditch effort, I decided to swap in the 6800XT GPU one last time. This time it just decided to work.

I am on high alert now. What could have caused this?

This sounds like a case of debris interfering with the GPU and the slot. It happens from time to time. If it were me I would run some benchmarks and watch thermals and restart until I felt it was working properly.
