The Chronos Mini with an AMD Ryzen 5 5600G and Radeon Graphics should be capable of handling games like Baldur's Gate 3, Skyrim, and Ark: Survival Evolved. However, if you're experiencing lag in Baldur's Gate 3, there could be a few factors to consider and some tips that might help:

  • Graphics Settings: Check the in-game graphics settings. Lowering certain settings like shadows, anti-aliasing, and effects can significantly improve performance without sacrificing too much visual quality.
  • Driver Updates: Make sure you have the latest graphics drivers installed. New driver updates often include optimizations for specific games.
  • Resolution: Lowering the resolution in-game can provide a significant performance boost. Try reducing it to 1080p if you're playing at a higher resolution.
  • Background Applications: Make sure no background applications are consuming too much CPU or memory while you're gaming. Close unnecessary applications to free up resources.
  • System Cooling: Ensure that your PC's cooling is adequate. High temperatures can lead to performance throttling and reduced performance.
  • RAM: If you have 8GB of RAM, consider upgrading to 16GB. More memory can improve performance, especially in demanding games.
  • Storage: If you're using a traditional hard drive, consider upgrading to an SSD. An SSD can significantly improve loading times and overall system responsiveness.
  • Game Updates: Check if there are any game updates available for Baldur's Gate 3. Developers often release patches to address performance issues.
  • Background Windows Updates: Ensure that your operating system and drivers are up to date. Windows updates and driver updates can sometimes impact performance.
  • Background Tasks: Disable or limit background tasks, especially those that use the CPU or memory.
  • Game-Specific Tweaks: Research if there are any specific tweaks or settings that players have found to improve performance in Baldur's Gate 3.
  • Monitor Performance: Use tools like MSI Afterburner or Radeon Software to monitor your system's performance while playing. This can help identify any bottlenecks.

Remember that Baldur's Gate 3 is still in early access, and optimization may vary. It's also a demanding game, so some level of optimization might be needed to achieve smoother performance on your hardware. Experiment with the settings and tips above to find the right balance between performance and visuals for your gaming experience.
