What is SR-IOV used for in PCI options in BIOS?

Hello, I would like to know what SR-IOV is for in the BIOS options and if it could have any impact on the stability or performance of the PC.

SR-IOV allows different virtual machines (VMs) in a virtual environment to share a single PCI Express hardware interface.

Could it have any impact on the stability of the CPU or Memory or system in general? No.

Could it have impact on performance of a PCIe device within a virtual environment? Yes.
