Hi,
I just installed in my PC a video card RX 7900 XT. All good so far. Next step was to install the drivers so I got latest version of Adrenaline: whql-amd-software-adrenalin-edition-24.12.1-win10-win11-dec-rdna (Installed drivers only).
Of course, I test it first to see how is working compared to my old video card. In one word: disappointing.
This is the result of full test: https://www.passmark.com/baselines/V11/display.php?id=230976809489
From there, I did a lot of driver uninstall (with and without DDU), Adrenaline software install (minimal and full) but the results didn't change whatsoever.
After many hours of installing/uninstalling I had again uninstall all from control panel followed by with DDU in safe mode and let windows to put it's driver and nothing else from AMD drivers.
Guess what: the video card finally started to work as it should. This is the final result https://www.passmark.com/baselines/V11/display.php?id=231224733912
So, here's the question: WHAT IS GOING ON? How come the AMD Official WHQL driver produce worse results than what windows put by default?
Let me be clear, I'm not talking about testing software only, I can see in game the difference between the 2 drivers. The only reasons for installing Adrenaline was first to fix the performance issues and second to gain access to VSR. Well, I don't need it anymore unless there is a stand alone program. But why AMD will sabotage their own products with rubbish support software?
In the mean time, I hope you guys to have a Happy New Year.
