So like a monumental moron I am, as I would have done this long ago, today I saw that my PCIe x1 slots on my motherboard were open on the right side, and amazingly my Intel 660P works perfectly in that slot, albeit at much reduced speeds, as you can see from the two benchmarks below, the bottom done in an x4 slot in November, the top today in an x1, both are gen 3, and the software was Samsung Magician's built in benchmark. I wasn't expecting such a drastic drop considering gen 3 has a bandwidth of 985MB/s per lane bidirectional.
