Ryzen 5 5600 h wattage

I have a acer nitro 5 laptop with 5600h after repasting with mx6 i am boosting to 65 watts reaching 90c temp irrelevant though. But how can a laptop cpu boost to 65 watts which as per amd website boost to 54 watts. Anything i am missing

The TDP ratings is not the actual amount of wattage the CPU can output. It is just used as a guide for cooling the CPU processor.

 

The TDP rating for your laptop processor is 45 Watts but under heavy loads the processor can easily go above 45 watts in power to run those types of loads. Problem is if your CPU Cooler is not strong enough it would cause your laptop processor to overheat.

 

Thus laptops are engineered for both Power usage and Temperature so it is made so that the processor will never go above its engineered power usage or Temperature. Unless you physically Overclock or Under-clock the processor forcing the laptop's power or temperature to go above or below it engineered standards.

 

If your CPU is using 65 watts with a CPU Temperature of 90c it is will within the processor's Maximum Operating Temperature of 105c.
