My system has been acting weird lately in that every time I boot it up, whether from sleep or from off, it will get to the desktop and then randomly reboot. The lights on the components will stay on but the peripherals will all restart and the computer itself will black screen, go through the mobo splash screen and then go back to the desktop. It only happens when I boot up and it often only happens once. I can be gaming for hours after the first reboot and nothing will happen. I've stress tested through Prime95 and 3DMark and have never had a crash. I've reseated the RAM and I'm not running XMP anymore and it's still happening. I'm not running any overclock on the CPU and temps are always low, never getting above 60. I've gotten some gnarly Event Viewer logs though when it starts back up.
"A fatal hardware error has occurred.
Reported by component: Processor Core
Error Source: Machine Check Exception
Error Type: Cache Hierarchy Error
Processor APIC ID: 12"
Is my CPU on the fritz or could it be something else like a power problem? I don't have another PSU to check but would much rather that be the issue than trying to deal with getting a new CPU right now.
Compontents:
CPU: Ryzen 5 3600
GPU: Radeon rx 5600xt
Mobo: MSI B550 Gaming Plus
RAM: Corsair Vengeance 3600 16G
PSU: Antec 650W Gold
Case: Meshify C
Any help or advice would be super appreciated. Other than having to wait a few minutes to be able to use my computer, it is nothing more than an inconvenience but I don't want to be damaging any components and would much rather not have this issue.
