RX 6600xt GPU Randomly will fail to connect to display on start up

Hi all,

This problem has been doing my head in over the last few weeks and I cant find much help on the internet so I thought I'd try my luck here.

I have recently built a new PC

Specs: (all standard settings, no overclocking)

CPU: Intel i5 10600k

Mobo: NZXT N7 z490

Ram: 4x 8gb Kingston fury beast (2666)

Storage: Kingston m.2 nvme ssd

PSU: Corsair CV750

GPU: Gigabyte eagle RX6600XT

Display: HDMI to Standard HP Monitor and Kogan gaming monitor from another PC (used separately to test display issue).

This issue started about a week after I had built the PC and had been using it for gaming. Before the first instance there was no sign of any issue and no update from windows that would cause me to think it being the issue.

I simply was playing an innocent game of Civilization 6, finished the game and shut down the PC normally. The next morning I booted the PC and there was no display from GPU HDMI ports. I tested all ports and tried my other gaming monitor as well as three other HDMI Cables to be sure it wasn't the monitor.

I plugged an HDMI cable into the Mobo display port which the monitor picked up instantly. I searched for the GPU in device manager but it wasn't there which was strange because the GPU was running as the fans were spinning the whole time.

I pulled the GPU out and put it into my other PC which it detected and booted up as normal.

I then reinstalled it back into its original PC set up in the same PCIE slot (recommended slot) and it started up again and the display was back. I went through a lengthy process to reinstall all GPU drivers, updated the MOBO BIOS and checked for updates for windows 10, everything was up to date.

3 days of perfect performance and gaming and it happened again. However this was after trying to boot up from a sleep. I pulled the GPU out and put it back in and it was fine again.

Another week of perfect performance and it has happened again. I repeated the process and am now writing to this forum to find out what the hell is going on??

Any ideas about what my issue might be? I am thinking about taking it into the local pc gurus to do some testing but this may be in vein as I cant reproduce the issue it occurs randomly. I have tried to do what all of the guides have said however I haven't found the same situation on any forums as most people report their GPU fans not spinning whereas mine are. Or they have never gotten display on initial boot whereas mine works fine until it just decides not to connect to display randomly. I haven't had any freezes or cut outs either during game play or screen time.

I had one instance where my PC didn't boot and the light on the MOBO stayed red indicating a boot issue, I simply held down the power off and then powered it back on and it worked fine? (This has happened once and never again). I am absolutely baffled and would appreciate any help or advice as I am quite new to the PC world and I am getting sick and tired of pulling the GPU out and putting it back in every time this happens (always fixes the issue immediately).

Any advice would be much appreciated.

Cheers

You can check this link https://community.amd.com/t5/graphics/sapphire-pulse-rx-6600-xt-black-screen-driver-instalation/td-p... for some possible things to try.  It covers a few things like this, despite the thread title.  Most of us have fixed the issue with a new PSU.  I saw your PSU is bronze certified.  If you decide to try a new one, try to use a gold, platinum or titanium.  I had the same issue with my 6600 and it's about 90% better with a new platinum.  It took a LOT of trial and error, but that's what worked the best for me and for some others.
