Problems with Rx 6700 XT in Fortnite

Hey,

so I build a pc myself for the first time ever and I was so happy when everything worked without any failures.

But there is one problem that is really annoying and I cant solve it.

When I play Fortnite, the fps just keep dropping and its impossible for me to get over 140 constrantly, even on the absolute lowest settings. What I find interesting is, that the cpu and gpu just dont get used heave (at maximum 60%). I even re-installed all drivers and sadly that didnt work out.

As I said Im really new to pc stuff... so I hope there is somebody, who can help me

I have the same problem. Game runs ok on DirectX 12 on Direct X 11 and performance mode it is unplayable. So I suggets playing on Dx 12 until you find a better solution

DX 12 places high demands on the graphics cards, especially when playing 2K or higher with Ultra and all image enhancements such as MSAA etc. Even high-end users quickly reach their limits because of the enormous computing power. This hardly contributes to image improvement at these resolutions, it tends to be pixelated, and high FPS is not the only grail.

I got a Nvidia 3060 RTX wi ryzen 7 5800h... I'd recommend you play with the FORTNITE graphics menu settings first, make sure to enable Multi-THREADING, and DLSS (ON+BOOST) if that's an option. Even on my setup with most low settings i'm averaging 133fps. But w/e play with the fortnite settings, if it's all super high settings.....I wouldn't be expecting 144fps, maybe 60fps... er which is unplayable,...gotta be 120fps or above...

Also check those drivers for your CPU/GPU... make sure windows update isn't trashing your drivers with old versions also. Have fun. Took me about ten minutes of playing with the fortnite settings, but you'll get it right eventually...er probably...

I mean your issue only applies to fortnite then it's a fortnite settings thing eh?

oh yeah, and always use a direct plugged in internet connection... wifi5ghz, 2.,4ghz is umplayable....if your ping is above 44ms it's unplayable,.,.you need that sweet less than 10ms ping with a 144fps to really play FORTNITE....

er w/e enjoy brother.

[Addition: Oh you mentioned your cpu/Gpu, load never gets higher than 60% you'll wanna check windows power settings, it causes a bunch a problems, in limiting performance for so called POWER-SAVING... if your machine is plugged in you wanna get as much electricity going to those CPU/GPU as possible...but then make sure if you built this machine yourself you have a good enough power suppply, to be giving all that juice, eh?]
