About the price of rx 7900 xt was not logic..the price should be usd 750~800 to make it sense.
Trying to make sense in this senseless world is hard.
You have inflation thru the roof, increasing costs in logistics, increasing costs with raw material and I don't even know what's reserved for tomorrow.
But let me put some three good points.
- The current AMD flagship is 100 less than last year's flagship MSRP (7900XTX vs 6950XT)
- Its roughly one third less of 4090 MSRP but in the real AIB market could be almost half the price.
- Leading a new MCM design that can give them a considerable edge in the next gen.
I know its hard, I waited 2 years to get the card I wanted, the RX6800 which left my wallet partially depleted instead of fully depleted. The RX6800 got to be on sale for 1300€ here, that is just nuts. Finally I got the luck to grab it at 773'ish, less than a 3060ti here.
But if you are still trying to find sense, let me tell you that I bought a Matrox Millennium G400 MAX for 100€ (equivalent, because we had another coin) and later an Ati Radeon 9700PRO for 200€. They were the very best cards available at the time. Now if you want the very best its down to this muuuuch.
Its just how the world works, I'm just glad AMD didn't put a insane price tag. But for me, my quest ended with the RX6800 (for now..)
You didn't read my post properly cause I spoke on RX 7900 XT not XTX...You tired yourself out on something else wasn't my topic...and be aware that it is illogical the difference between RX 7900 XT and XTX just USD100!!! because the gap between them is too huge...and I did not talked about Nvidia or compared with it to put pictures or prices cause I do not care about it...if you care keep it for your self.
I read what was necessary and I did not get tired at all. This is my take and follow through of your, well.. short take.
But get yourself comfortable and read my post again, soon it will make sense in this senseless world.
No..there is no sense at your speech at all...because you talked about the inflation without observing AMD made the flagship XTX by USD 1000 which is good and the XT by USD 900 with just difference USD 100 only which is completely wrong and not logic...that's the way how to talk about inflation fairly.
I hope you got my point
And where you draw the logic or where do you find sense?
Each frame equals a Dollar? A Euro? A Yen?
So if the profit margin for them is 10% less they have to do a lower price because it does not fit your logic?
My take is still there, sorry. You have too much variables, one being inflation (yes, that is where inflation fits in my post) and so, trying to make sense on what you do not control or have enough information about is not a valid point.
You would be better off saying that the RoG models pricing don't make sense.
(and that is the reason why I put a Strix 4090 which is so much above FE MSRP)
Don't try to make sense in a senseless world.
Did you see now what the price looks like?? that's what I was talking about when I said the price of radeon rx 7900 xt $900 is not logic..now that's the result...I put this comparison between those cards just for you..because you are who inserted Nvidia in this topic.
I could find them on Amazon at 1100 and local stores at 950€
Where a 4080 I could only find at 1400€
Sorry. You are not gonna pull this thru.
And by the looks of the recently released benchmarks from ASUS TUF, AIB cards look promising.
As for "your" price difference.
100$ difference which accounts for 10% right?
Performance difference in average, sits at roughly 13%
So price wise looks very near. But some benchmarks. like productivity show less difference and 7900XT may make sense to some users.
Again, sorry but this topic was caught offside by the world cup referee and its not valid.
Even that the price $1,100 for RX 7900 XT still too high..and that's due to the AMD put it by $900 which is different just $100 with RX 7900 XTX and that's absolutely not logic at all.
You should recognise and confes that the XT price was unlogic...The concert is finished.
It was already finished before the start.
Check what goodplay and earnhardt already wrote about the topic, because I'm being really nice to keep going.
But I'm curious .. How old are you? 10?
If you are not then..
Just move along and give it up. If you don't want to buy it because doesn't make sense to you. Use your purchasing right to:
Do Not Purchase!
As for the logic, the out of stock warnings here in Portugal and Spain are saying otherwise. People are buying it.
You should ensure from the most opinions of the people and experts and websites..not just 2 people !!!!!
But after you talked as this type of speech "what old are you..and move along and give it up !!!!!!" I now know what the level of mind I was talking to...In this case, I excuse your inability to distinguish between the not logic and the logic......
Go and spend fortune on not logic things as you like...
good luck
You still at it? LOL
Why do you keep throwing a tantrum about my opinion? Are you forgetting that this is a forum where all of us may give their opinions freely and respectfully.
Don't try and reply with that "inability" and patronizing tone thing. Its just won't work, it is childish attitude and very un respectful.
Be a little more mindful to someone who did not replied wrongly to your post and just had a different opinion. If you keep failing at that, then I can't really have a Logic conversation with you.
"Logic" see? Now that's how it works. LOL
After the inappropriate words you said to me..and inserted another topic that is not concerning to my topic..you coming now and talking about respect LooooooooL....I hope you will be rational mindful.
Be logic and do not reply.......good luck
I like you. You keep me entertained. LoL
But that is it. I'm sorry.
If you ran out of arguments and got stuck on a failed logic and ask me recognize your point... Well.. There is your mistake right there and lack of respect too. The rest of the post its just downhill.
But hey, if You do not have nothing really useful to say or write and at this time, then its just mere entertainment.
Let me help you out one more time with another hint.
Read the Room
At least It can help you in the future.
Good luck
Thank You.
Although, luck is not a factor here.
You're welcome
God help you
Again, no need. I'm doing just fine and with your entertaining replies, even better
Keep Going! LOL
Following your argument, nVidia is doing the same thing. They priced the RTX 4090 high at 1.6kUSD for the FE, AIB cards are more expensive, and not by just 100USD more, usually a fair bit more than that. They then priced the much weaker RTX 4080 at 1.2kUSD, which makes the 1.6kUSD RTX 4090 look so much better, basically nVidia pulled the wool over everyone's eyes with this clever pricing scheme.
The logic is, IF you're willing to pay 1.2kUSD for the RTX 4080, why not pony up the extra 400USD for the RTX 4090 which outperforms the RTX 4080 by a fair margin, thus making it look so much better in terms of bang-for-buck. Believe me, had nVidia priced the RTX 4080 at 1kUSD or lower from the very 'git go', it would have sold out easy. They did it because they wanted to make the RTX 4090 look good.
Now, as to the RX 7900 XTX being bad value at 1kUSD, I disagree, so you may ask why. right? The argument is simple, in no way shape and form can the RTX 4080 outpace the RTX 4090 in rasterize games, you can overclock it to its limits and it might approach the RTX 4090 in, say, Cyberpunk 2077. The RX 7900 XTX has bee shown to be a good overclocker, going pass 3.1GHz, and based on TPU review, can even surpass the RTX 4090 in Cyberpunk 2077 without RT. I don't think the more expensive RTX 4080 can do that, do you? And that's not just one game. Sure, you may argue the RTX 4090 can be overclocked as well, and you're right, but the point is, a 1kUSD card can actually beat a 1.6kUSD card (at stock), that's quite a feat in itself.
Bear in mind, in no game and res does the RTX 4080 beat the RTX 4090 (may have one or two outlier), but the RX 7900 XTX has been shown to be able to beat the RTX 4090 at certain res with certain game/game engine. And yet nVidia wants you to pony up 1.2k RTX 4080, really? The better value's in the RX 7900 XTX in my honest opinion, as long as rasterize gaming and NOT RT is your primary concern. BTW, I don't just talk the talk, I walk the walk, I'd actually snagged an XTX.
I agree with you 100% about Nvidia cards and AMD XTX...but I wasn't talk about those cards...I was talking about the difference between AMD cards XT and XTX only...that's all
Suppose you will have to wait for release price of 4080 (4070ti ?) for comparison.
AMD aren't competing against the 4090.
I am not talking about comparison with Nvidia at all...I'm talking about price comparison between AMD RX 7900 XT and XTX the difference should not just USD100...like before rx 6900 xt and rx 6800 xt at launch.
Then you should have said that in first post.
Not move the goalpost like a troll.
This is what I said in the first post:
About the price of rx 7900 xt was not logic..the price should be usd 750~800 to make it sense
See...I didn't mentioned or compared with any Nvidia at all...I talked about rx 7900 xt only...it was very clear
Following your logic, neither does nVidia's pricing. As I'd pointed out, look at the RTX 4080 pricing against the RTX 4090, The RTX 4090 should be at about 1.3kUSD, while the RTX 4080 should be at about 1kUSD. Then let's look at the expected pricing of the RTX 4070 Ti aka RTX 4080 12GB (Fake Edition), word is, nVidia's gonna ask about 900USD for it, exact same price as when it was called RTX 4080 12GB (Fake Edition).
nVidia can do so because it's priced the RTX 4080 at 1.2kUSD, so, to them, 900USD for the RTX 4070 Ti is not being unreasonable (from their point of view) as there's a clear performance difference and market segmentation between the cards. What peeps don't realize is, nVidia has moved ahead with a paradigm shift in pricing. Each and every tier of each and every new series of cards is gonna increase in price, simply because Mr Leather Jacket had proclaimed, "Moore's Law is Dead". With that, nVidia justifies a paradigm shift in their pricing policy.
While AMD is no angel, at the very least, it had kept its higher tier card (the RX 7900 XTX at 1kUSD, actually lower than its previous gen high end card, the RX 6950XT which was launched at 1.1kUSD. Do you see any resemblance at all with nVidia's pricing?
Everything has gone up on their end....I'd stated this in other forums, and I'll say it here, the RTX xx60 series used to be sub 400USD cards, just see what price nVidia would be asking for their RTX 4060, I don't think it'd be below 400USD. Bear in mind, the RTX 3060 12GB was launched at 329USD.....how much do you think nVidia is gonna ask for their spanking new RTX 4060?
I understand you about Nvidia...but again you do not understand me right...I didn't talk about Nvidia and I do not care about it...cause I was talking about AMD XT and XTX only.. that is what I care about it..and the price difference between them is not logic.
The point that I was trying to make, for which you don't seem to get, is that I agree to some extent that the pricing of 900USD for the XT and 1000USD for the XTX makes no sense because it'd make the XTX a better buy (simply because you get much more performance with that 100USD extra).
The opposite strategy is employed by nVidia, pricing both cards high at 1.2kUSD for the RTX 4080 and 1.6kUSD for the RTX 4090, making the latter (surprisingly) look to be the better value card. After all, IF you're willing to pony up 1.2k for the RTX 4080, you might as well go all the way and get the RTX 4090 at 400USD more.
From a marketing point of view, I do understand why AMD did that, to push sale of the XTX. Likewise, nVidia priced the RTX 4080 that way to move the RTX 4090, you need only check various online stores to realize that such marketing strategy for each company worked. XTX are being sold as soon as they are restocked, RTX 4090 follow the same trend, while the XT and RTX 4080 are still available.
To say that pricing for the AMD cards don't make sense is not wrong, the XT should be 850USD at best, but same goes for nVidia RTX 40000 series cards, pricing do not make sense.
I believe that to understand the price point for the XT you really have to compare with what the market has to offer, either from Green side and even older RDNA2.
Although the performance gap is not that outrageous, 10% price MSRP and 13% average performance gap.
Anyway. What I was trying to say, It happened the same with Ryzen 7000, when Linus even said the 5800X3D could pose a threat to recent releases, to a point that it could canibalize the 7000 series sales.
If you lower the 7900XT for that price tier the remaiming 6950XT wont fly off the shelves. Even if AMD had lowered MSRP, Retailers would still inflate the price anyway to get old stock out.
And now were are back to what I said in the first place. Its Hard to make sense in the present day.
Dont worry, Green Team will be cutting the price on that 4080 and so will AMD do to the RDNA3 just like it did with R9 ZEN4
We cant just go out and say its not logic, we do not have all the numbers to call it that. What we can do is: Dont buy it! Same as the 4080 and skip it.
I do respect your point of view...and it is good we met at some points..and of ofcourse I keep my own point of view
What a pointless thread.
Should be all products same price right...Is it a worthpoint for you!!!!!!!!!!!
I agree to some extent that the price of the RX 7900 XT did not quite jell with me, I'd say 850USD to 800USD would make more sense (just looking at the specs alone, heck, the 7900 XT should have been an RX 7800 XT/XTX). I plan on scoring an RX 7900 XTX myself, to replace my RX 6900 XT, for my main gaming rig, so the pricing of the RX 7900 XT is moot to me.
Anyone here doing some upgrades to your rig in preparation for the RX 7900 XT/XTX? I sure as heck am! Upgraded my R9 3900X to the R9 5900X (I know, the cool thing would have been to snag the 5800X3D, but I want my rig to be a bit of an all rounder, plus after having 12C/24T, I can't go back to 8C/16T).
Upped my RAM to 2x 16GB DDR4 4000MHz sticks, and just bought a 2TB NVMe M.2 SSD to store more games! Will now have a total of 10TB SATA and NVMe M.2 SSDs, and a 6TB WD Black HDD for storing lotsa games. My Corsair HX1000 Plat should be good enough even though it's about 3 years old already, but regardless, also have a spare Enermax MAX REVO 1500W PSU on standby.
AS I'd said, now my sig is correct (though I've yet to install the card), got my friend to pick up the card for me. Pics were taken at the brick and mortar shop at the tech mall on Thursday afternoon (or rather, early this morning here in Canada).
Yes, I'm here in Canada and I won't be able to mess with the card till I get back 2nd week of February, but I'm too much of a fanboy to resist this gorgeous beast. I believe this badboy would finally let me play Metro Exodus PC Enhanced with RT maxed, yet net good framerate/
The card, being held by a staff member of shop, I wanted to see the 3x 8pin power connectors (was afraid they might have mistakenly given me the XT instead, which has 2x 8pin)
@MikeySCT
That card as a serious amount of X in it. Let me draw a chart since I can't find the picture from GN.
= Benchmark for Amount of X's =
NVIDIA RTX 4090 = 1 X
AMD RADEON RX 7900XTX = 3 X
XFX RADEON RX 7900XTX = 5 X
I know, right?! The moment I saw Steve of GN expound on how great this card is, the most number of X'es, beating out all other cards, I knew I just had to get it!
Jokes aside, I've always said that whichever AMD card I'd buy, it'd only be from Sapphire, PowerColor and XFX. AMD exclusive AIBs.....won't buy from the big three, MSI/Asus/Gigabyte. Why? I feel that these big three are lazy, they'll simply stick a cooler they have for nVidia cards whereas the coolers on the exclusive AIBs are designed for the card.
The RX 7900 XTX is meant to compete against the RTX 4080, anyone who thinks the 1kUSD RX 7900 XTX should compete against the 1.6kUSD RTX 4090 is smoking something bad....or good, depends on how one sees it I guess.
That the RX 7900XTX is highly OC'able (so far, seen the Asus, XFX, and Sapphire AIB cards can be OC'ed to exceed 3.1GHz), sometimes closing in on or exceeding the RTX 4090 in rasterized gaming (something that I doubt an OC'ed RTX 4080 can do), and beating the RTX 4080 by a wider margin than reference cards in games that the reference RX 7900 XTX wins in the first place. Honestly, I can't wait to get back and give my card a run, just to see how far it can go.
