NEW RX 6600 and Ryzen 5 5600x Stuttering

Hello!

Specs: Ryzen 5 5600x

RX 6600

Motherboard: GIGABYTE B450M DS3H WIFI (Yes updated to the latest version)

PSU: Corsair RM750X

I'm having stuttering/microstutters and I'm not sure what to do now. I already DDU 2 times and enabled XMP profile and still have issues.

Games I tested: Dragonball Xenoverse 2 ( stutter once in a while) Rainbow Six Siege ( stutters) Elden Ring (barely 54-55 fps and stutters a bit) Battlefield 2042 ( runs poorly too)

PSU,GPU, and GPU new. I just upgraded to a better case (Corsair 4000D Airflow and have more case fans)

One thing, I poked around the GPU tuning settings, it would run well and then suddenly mircostutter and stuff still... I'm not sure if I'm suppose to tune the settings for it to run well. Idk no more.

Thoughts?

you mentioned poking around the GPU tuning settings. It's possible that some settings may not be optimized for your specific system. I would recommend resetting the GPU settings to default and only making necessary adjustments. If the issue persists, it might be worth reaching out to the manufacturer's support for further assistance. Follow My Health UH

I DDU again last night and everything is at default settings again. Still the same issue. Should I just return the GPU? I heard RX 6600 need some tuning which is why I was asking about

Better to have B550M instead of B450M.

stuttering could also be a issue caused by a PSU (power supply) and you have the WORSE brand of power supply on the market. (even NAMELESS BRANDS make better PSU's)

so the PSU has a high chances of being at fault.

also what is your screen? are you 1080p 1440p 4k? a 6600 is actually a really decent 1080p card and shouldn't stutter what so ever on any of the said games. (try adjusting your power settings via ryzen master/ radeon software) because if you see dramatic performance differences then. it's your PSU.

..maybe take a gander at this handy dandy PSU tier list

I don’t get it. The PSU I have is under A tier. 2021 version. I replaced my old 600w psu to Corsair 750x so far no problem. It use to restart randomly if I played games or non game stuff. Old PSU restarted within 30 minutes from each other. With the new PSU, I don’t have any issues no more.

My reply was directed towards AMD-Fangirl ..your power supply is perfect for your setup

what is that tier list supposed to prove? if you look at the tier list for GPU's then compare a 4090 to a 7900xtx on MW2/WZ2 max settings 4k no upscaling so raw. the 7900xtx gets 125 fps raw gameplay, while the 4090 get's a fluctuating performance of about 95-115 (i gathered that info almost a year ago) and that's on a game that isn't optimized for either AMD/Nvidia. and yet the 7900xtx gets more performance with virtually no stuttering.

if you want to follow tier lists that's okay. you can stick to "meta" building. every person i know that gamed with a Corsair psu has had to rebuy a new pc because of it. and that's 6 people. i have a friend that will never buy anything corsair in his life because of losing a gaming rig due to them, in fact i know another guy who lost a gpu due his corsair over pumping it due to him adjusting power settings on his cpu. yeah he was overclocking his cpu, and his corsair fried alongside his 480. "he overclocked his cpu and undervolted it at the same time."

just like Unity recently has forever ruined their reputation, Corsair PSU's have for me also. now i do have a corsair headset, i just stray away from their pc killers (PSUs) nty. rather have my B tier EVGA 1000w gold. or even a nameless chinese brand. that wasn't even added onto that list. man that nameless brand lasted me 6 years with 0 issues.

What speed is your RAM actually running at in Windows?

Do  you have the latest AM4 chipset drivers installed from AMD.com support page?

Sometimes purchasing a separate TPM module can help with stuttering instead of using your CPU's built in fTPM

What resolution are your playing at? What refresh rate is your monitor(s)? Have you tried with in game Vsync enabled?

What are you running for cooling on y our 5600x? ..hopefully not the stock cooler

It was running at 2666mhz before I turned on XMP now runs at 3600mhz (DDR4 3600).
playing 1080 144hz and not using stock cooler. CPU temp is usually 65-69ish. GPU temp around the same to at least 71.

IF you have Ryzen Master installed, check "Coupled Mode" .. IF it's on, then you are running your FCLK at 1800 .. IF it is not on, then go into your BIOS and set your FCLK to 1800

I don’t have ryzen master installed. What is FCLK? What does it do?
