Hello,
I have a 120GB SSD and I just copied some files on it and unplugged it from my PC, after some years, when I plugged it to my PC then Windows OS can't detect my SSD and on Linux OS it plugged and unplugged frequently. Why? I never used this SSD.
I want to fdisk it with "cfdisk" then it show me:
Failed to write disklabel.
And "dmesg" show me:
$ sudo dmesg [17020.700937] Buffer I/O error on dev sdc, logical block 29305184, async page read [17024.159216] Buffer I/O error on dev sdc, logical block 29305184, async page read
My SSD is:
Any idea?
Thank you.
That sucks hope you have it backed up elsewhere still.
Looks like it died.
Did you unplug it while it was running or power connected?
You could talk to AMD support about it, I think they came with 4 year warranties: https://www.amd.com/en/support/contact-email-form
Not really!
1. use a toothbrush (dry) and clean the connectors on SSD
2. use new cable for data AND power
if you are lucky its only a bad connection - if you are unlucky its a broken SSD
I only used it once!
OUCH! That really hurts. Any chance it is under warranty still?
Has SSD any EOL time? I mean is not write data. For example, one year or...
