MSI has elected to not support new processors for their existing B350 and X370 based motherboards. Found this on the TechPowerUp site today.
This is likely to get AMD calling them and asking them to update the BIOS that AMD has promised for everyone.
I have a MSI B350 board but I have an adequate CPU with my existing R5 2400G for the time being
I was more interested in a new motherboard myself with more slots for peripherals.
And this is why you don't post false rumors based on a Reddit thread. As you can see, pretty much every MSI motherboard, B350 and X370 included, is qualified to work with Ryzen 3000.

Yup one German tech guy gets it wrong and now everyone hates MSI. Too funny or sad?
MSI made the mistake, not the media portals
Not true, one guy got an incorrect response from a low level tech support agent not an official statement that represented MSI. For instance the one referenced by black_zion is an MSI response. Any true journalist would verify that information before lambasting a company. It was an improper article that should have been verified before being posted. Especially with information so obviously likely to be incorrect.
All I know is several media sites posted the original storey and then linked it to a clarification
I posted the full story on the MSI forum and they got back to me quick with clarification
