Have AMD stopped support for the R9 series of graphics cards?
I recently installed Halo Infinate (multiplayer) and I am unable to play at a stable fps even though I meet/beat the minimum system requirements.
I currently run:
Ryzen 7 1700X
R9 390
16GB DDR4
and SSD
The R9 390 meets/beats the minimun requirement (RX 570) performance wise, but I barely get 15fps in game while on the lowest graphics settings and resolution possible. (I have the latest drivers etc.) Whats going on?
Halo Infinite is a very graphics demanding game, the minimum requirements says RX 570, you have a R9 390
What resolution and graphics quality are you running at?
Try to follow this guide Steam Community :: Guide :: How to get Halo Infinite running well on unsupported AMD Radeon R9 290/2...
I am trying to run it at 720p and with all graphics set to low/off and the hd texturepack uninstalled.
Thanks for the link, however I don't really want to run modded drivers... I'm getting the gist that amd have completely dropped support for my card lineup now, which is a bit ridiculous considering current circumstances.
The AMD drivers I linked to aren't modded drivers but official AMD Drivers for your GPU card. You can safely use that last driver if you so choose to.
Yes, AMD made all Non-RX GPU cards legacy sometime in June of 2021.
If Halo Infinite requires a newer AMD Driver version than June 21,2021 : https://www.amd.com/en/support/graphics/amd-radeon-r9-series/amd-radeon-r9-300-series/amd-radeon-r9-...
Then you will need to upgrade your GPU card to be able to run that game with its best options enabled.
