Bought a pc with a 7900XT GPU and a 5800X3D CPU and I've been having constant green screen followed by a reboot
Temps look alright
Drivers are updated
BIOS is up to date
I rebooted Windows and still
The pc crashes when I launch a game, a benchmark.
Complete PC specs including make/model of your PSU? Case .. type of cooling ..etc
CPU/GPU temps?
What speed is your RAM actually running at? (Task Manager>Performance>Memory)
And I would add:
Did you reinstall Windows or moved an ole installation to new computer?
Where did you download drivers, should be amd com for chipset and gpu.
Which programs are running while you are running a game.
Be Quiet 850W PSU
2x8 GB RAM Corsair Vengeance 3600MHz
7900 XT founders edition
B550 Gaming X V2 Gigabyte
1 TB SSD ADATA Legend 710
MSI MAG CORELIQUID 240R V2
BeQuiet 500 case (2 stock fan, one front one back)
Temps are ok running at less than 40°C when at rest and stagnating at 70°C while on load. CPU never went over 90°C, the watercooling pump makes no weird noises and seems to run alright. As for the GPU nothing alarming either.
As for the ram speed, at first it was set to a lower value and then I change it but to no effect.
I booted the PC back to factory settings procedeed to try and launch something that would need a bit more ressources and it crashed. Then tried with updated drivers and still nothing.
I've done tests where I had nothing running in the background and it still crashed.
I'm sending the PC back but I wanted to post about it in case someone has the same issue.
For what it is worth, I am not fond of seeing a CPU like the 5800 X3D with a 7900 XT running on any B550 chipset. These high end components need the X570 chipset minimum. Every time I see these problems occurring, 99% of the time I see the B550 motherboards involved. Here they spend big $$$ on these components then cheap out on the component that controls everything. Yes, it does matter.
