I recently built a Ryzen 7900X system:
Ryzen 7900X
ASRock B650M Pro RS motherboard
2x 32GB Kingston ECC memory modules, DDR5 5600
Windows 11
After a reboot it works okay, but the longer I use it the worse it gets. Symptoms are that it freezes and then recovers, showing the AMD crash reporting tool. It also has little pauses when browsing or watching videos in Chrome and Firefox. A reboot fixes it temporarily. It also has a freeze and crash every time it resumes from hibernation, just after I enter my password and the desktop is shown.
I have tried:
- Updated the BIOS to the latest from ASRock
- Updated all drivers to the latest ASRock ones
- Updated chipset driver (which seems to include the iGPU) to latest AMD version
- Updated all apps to latest versions
- Updated Windows 11 with all available updates
- Turning off the XMP memory profile or whatever it's called on AMD, defaulting to 5200MHz
- Memtest86 (all OK)
- Prime95 (stable)
- Furmark (stable)
I contacted ASRock and they suggested contacting AMD. I don't have another CPU or motherboard to test with.
Any ideas what the issue could be? I can't be the only one with this configuration so I'm starting to think that something is faulty.
