Flashing 5600xt bios onto a 5700xt

Yes you read it right. 5600xt bios onto a 5700xt, I suspect that one of the ram chips on my 5700xt have gone bad, and im hoping that by flashing a 5600xt bios there is a theoratical chance that the 2 memory modules that the 5600xt typically lacks is the one that my 5700xt that have gone bad. That way i can still use the card without getting soldering into the question

Did anyone try this before? Or are there any examples out there? i cant find any in google search at all

I don't see how that would work

It would be difficult but recommended that you compare the two BIOS files with some type of software tool, as that might give you a clue as to how it might affect your 5700XT.  It could severely hamper the performance, or it might bypass that defective memory chip if you are lucky.  I would only try this on a video card that I have written off, meaning you have a replacement ready to go.

The engineer still lurking within me thinks that the attempt will simply just fail to activate.  I bet it will say that the file isn't compatible or something like that.

I would not try this unless you already have another GPU you can use for the time being. Things could go wrong and you may "brick" your RX 5700 XT.

Are there any PC repair shops near you?
